* me we have some soft supporters

Yes this is is hard and ugly, but grow some balls. We have to keep working through this s**t because you just drown in it.

The list is a lot better than where we are atm. This season unfortunately is looking done, so let’s start on next year.
Haha, soft supporters. Some people are happy to swim through s**t, some are sick of the stench.

It frustrates me how positive Voss is being in the press conference. Just tell us like it is ffs
Yeah he should be pulling lines from bigfooty “I’m sacking myself Monday, but not before I sack all the assistants. The club will institute a mini-rebuild and trade half the list for a future third pick to west coast. Also thé Près and the board will be performing hara kiri or self-immolation, depending on if their surname starts with a letter that falls in the first half or second half of the alphabet. The footy department will also be let go, as will the CEO who clearly has no experience in running a club successfully.”

None should be recalled on how they played today, Cunners was by far the best of the lot of them by a mile particularly within the first half and a quarter, Fisher was okay Fogarty usual good game but limited O’Brien shouldn’t be given another game unless we are injury riddled..
Was at the game, if Cunners can string together another few few games together then bring him straight back in, Martin looked great tonight early against Cheats on but faded badly, both are class just don’t want to see them break down again within weeks of comebacks like usual…

Next week is one of those Queensland Carlton Coach Killing Machines, all incarnations of Bears, Lions and Suns have devoured a Carlton coach in the past. Is the great irony of Queensland's only Premiership Captain about to be dethroned by the upstart Coasters going to actually happen????
Stay turn as Carlton are about to eat one of their own......

Agree with this. And for the players who aren’t turning up to play for yet another coach (the third one for a lot of them) - start shipping them off. Build a culture around those who want to be there and want to play by the instructions given.

Yep. Cook is an experienced operator and is better placed to make the required changes than another Carlton President.

We also need to tweak the midfield for modern football. But I trust Austin to make the required changes.

Better assistants, stick fat and cut out any cancers in the club.

I've tried to be patient and measured with my assessment of Voss but tonight broke me.

B Scott made one simple and obvious move at half time – shifting Merrett forward to break the Curnow tag and throwing Stringer in the middle. Ed then proceeds to look all at sea wondering whether to try and win his own ball or clamp down on the much bigger Stringer. While we're scratching our heads the Dons go on a clearance rampage (led by Stringer) and bang on a stack of quick goals to put the game to bed. Ed then gets shifted out of the midfield rotation and onto a forward flank, where he is even more ineffective. Instead of taking the Merrett move forward as a win and trying to capitalise in the middle, we do nothing and let our clearance specialist sit cold on the pine.

Also took way too long to move a clearly out of his depth Young off Wright. Plus got played before the game had even started with the Dons bringing in their second ruck as a late change to exploit SOS. The Pies did the exact same with Cameron, exact same result. Fool me once etc. etc.

Voss needs a reminder that the word coach is a verb as well as a noun.

Our setups are all wrong.
All over the ground we are either out positioned or siting in the wrong areas.
Our centre bounce lineups, our forward setups and our defensive match up or line ups. All wrong nothing is right. For instance, we must be one of the only teams that allows opposition to waltz out of our forward line, run through the middle and then find uncontested forwards at any time.
I’m not sure what the answer is or how it has become so wrong, but I can tell you, it’s setup, and we are getting pantsed in the coaches box.

Spot on , sorry for the intrusion, but one other guy from your mob that wears his heart on his Carlton sleeve is , JSOS. End of the day , your Captain should be the pillar of loyalty behind his coach , as great a player as he is , not the type of bloke I would have leading my club. The tail should never wag the dog. Your club needs to realise this and foremost .
Some of us want a Doberman removing the tail completely.

first half was encouraging in a morbid kind of way, looked good but didn't want to trust that a win might come of it. a bit more of the dare the play needs. some kicking into space rather than trying to find the perfect option to avoid losing possession.

some of the young stuff was ugly, and some of it was their quick ball use leaving him guarding space he was never going to cover or trying to catch up after blocks. the htb was yucky. no doubt weitering's opponent coached to steer clear so yacob doesn't get involved.
mcgovern didn't seem too horrible this week. kemp looks like he could fill a few holes all over the ground.

ed isn't someone we can pin our hopes on but he did his role. doesn't seem to be the type to be able to rack up possessions anymore.
can see that cerra is filling the vacuum that some other players are making.

some attempts were made at finding a target inside 50 but that just fizzled out. we find some very creative ways to turn the ball over on the 50. it's the one unpredictable thing about the team. doesn't seem to be enough players at the fall of the ball. no-one feeding out of the contest, no-one running past, and no midfielders kicking goals. martin dynamic but for how long?

some good play through the middle but of course no making the most of it. don't have anything to say about goal-kicking that hasn't been said already. some of it poor skills and some is a product of our clogged kick and hope play. we don't nail the easy shots and on top of that we're forced into taking many more low percentage shots.

missed finals by percentage, to now be half a game above a rebuilding hawthorn. what a fall.

Got to be honest, I prefer the Suns list to ours.

I agree we need to back Voss, but as the season is over I would like to see things changed with selection.

See what the players that aren’t getting opportunities get a chance. Give Dow, Carrol and Fogarty three full games in a row to see if they can play at the level.

What has become alarming for me that for such his tough and courageous player Vossy was (one of the toughest I have ever seen) we have become arguably one of the most soft (physically) and timid team's in the comp.

Essingtin brought and increased their physicality and intensity in the third quarter, and we folded like a pack of cards.

If only we had a Siciliy or two on our list ...

Pardon the intrusion, just wondering if anyone has some insight as to why Doch is playing predominantly as the extra Mid starting fwd/wing of late, with only spurts in defence?

He's an elite rebounding defender, one of the best in the comp, and from the outside it looks like he's being wasted in his current role.

Who wouldn't ? The Suns probably are a
top 4 talent team in the comp (they just need time and experience, plus a better coach)

Talent wise we are about 8th -10th unfortunately
.
