If u watch the vfl u will see that he is damaging. They spliced together a package of poor disposal to be “edgy”.
You get the ball on avg 32 times there’s going to be some mistakes.
His highlights (which there plenty of each game) easily out weighs it.
The “Dow can’t kick rhetoric” is bullshit, lacing out Harry perfectly last game shows that. His kicking has improved out of sight, he has power & penetration but is also hitting up the close targets.
He doesn’t get “easy” touches and finds good attacking options, finding space for team mates or starting a forward chain. Even when he’s slamming it on the boot to get it out the hot zone, he’s clearing it 40+ meters which at least gives the team a chance to set up

The stats don't support your opinion.

35 touches. 19 clangers.

If any of our AFL mids had 19 clangers in a game everyone would expect that player to be dropped. Yet Dow is putting those types of performances in at the level below the AFL

Here's the current (as of this morning) top disposal averages in the VFL this year. Binns aside (who is the real player who should feel aggrieved he hasn't been selected as he does have a point of difference and is in his first year) the rest of the list are either players who aren't even AFL listed or are those who have been or are who like Dow are known butchers of the ball .

19 clangers and you want him in the AFL team.

What game was this? If it was the Williamstown game, he was repeatedly kicking into a gale you could windsurf on with a skateboard and a towel

The one before he got selected.

He has averaged double digit clangers this year according to Ralph so even if we account for toxic ball use weather it doesn't paint a good picture. Not every game has had poor conditions, surely.

That’s a great story but just wrong.
VFL stats vfl.aflmstats.com
P Dow avg 31.7 disposals, 4.6 tackles, 16.9 handballs, 14.8 kick- so yeah avg 32
No game this season has he had 35- had 36 his last full game, 17 kicks. So how does he have 19 clangers??
We’re are u finding the clanger stats? Best of my knowledge there no clanger stats kept at vfl- same with disposal efficiency.
So are u just misinformed or deliberately teeing off on a bloke & making it up the stats?

Pregame show last week and another of the Fox Footy shows during the week.

It may have been 36. Excuse me for being one off.

It’s bullshit mate, don’t believe Ralph
They're not producing stats out of their ass.

They have no problem sticking the boots into us in other ways

If these numbers weren't factual then they'd use it to further stick the boots into us instead of justifying the selection policy of the match committee.

Plenty of us watched the game, he’s 100% talking s**t.

It’s very ******* simple, I don’t get how people cannot understand it.
The best player in the VFL for the last 2yrs has not been given 2 games in a row playing as part of our midfield to show whether or not he’s AFL standard.
Whether he is or not is a moot point- no one knows as he hasn’t been given the opportunity. Throw in how badly our midfield has been going & it’s the reason why it continually gets brought up.
It’s down right ******* stupid
for using moot rather than the oft seen mute.

Just watched the twitter highlights, it showed 15 possessions (including a goal) 19 out of the other 21 touches were not clangers, it is 100% bullshit. It did not happen.
VFL app has the replay available

Then I don't know who fed Fox the stats then or why they took them verbatim

They are lazy pricks, I’d be calling for Dows head if he was producing that level of clangers. It’s s**t that the pricks don’t fact check before spouting off.
Blame Kane Cornes 😂 👍

Pretty sure many of our elite players eg Walsh etc skills have been rubbish this year also.
Who cares anymore, he won't be at Carlton next year, he will find a new home & most likely be a solid 3/4th mid .
