I'm not an umpire brasher BUT Razor like to hear his own voice to much , makes decisions so he can get himself in the game -- he is a very strange character is ray surprised the AFL have put up with him so long
The umpires were helping Port enormously last night, BOG for Port they were, one guy in particular was shocking.

Awesome effort from the team. Was a pleasure to be at the ground and witness that game and the atmosphere. My kids got to enjoy it as well which was even more special.

Great games from JSOS and Nick Newman. Contributions from all. I've always believed that if we bring effort and pressure we are in every game and it allows heaps more opportunities for our talent to kick in and influence the outcome.

Any team, even the mighty Colliwobbles, don't operate that well under tremendous pressure. We need to put the Magpies under the pump and not allow them free reign. Especially Nick Daicos and Darcy Moore. Gotta stay the course against the Eagles first though.

Really impressed with the way Lachie Fogarty has contributed to the cause. He is a no frills footballer who provides grunt and tackling pressure in our forward line and is scoring goals as well. Seems to be moving better than when he last played.

Let the good times roll.

Geelong Sydney & Richmond are the ones we need to worry about percentage along with us we’ve all drawn games…

Beating Port by 50 is just such an unexpected boon - it allowed us to leapfrog Sydney's percentage, with West Coast to come.

I still find on ladder predictor that most scenarios have us land 9th or 10th by either half a game.or on percentage. But jumping over Sydney now adds in a couple of routes to the finals that maybe weren't realistic otherwise

I have us sneaking in, even if we lose to both the Pies and the Dees.

But winning the others eg Saints, WCE, GWS and GC.

Just by some chance us only loosing the 1 game we’ll make the eight
Lose only 2 and it’s completely in the lap of right results & upsets

I think he showed exactly why the MC have treated him the way they have.

He had 4 contested possessions, so a lot of his 15 possessions were not high pressure. Yet he was our second worst for disposal efficiency. He also laid 0 tackles. Watching him closely (as most would have) he just doesn't have a high level of intent to try and tackle.

Dow fights and scraps as hard as anyone when the ball is within reach. That split second of hesitation when he doesn't win the ball is what holds him back. It's fair to say he should be given time to adjust to the higher level, but you would think he would be desperate to show the coaches that he has worked on his known weaknesses.
I wanted Dow in the team to see what he can do with a stretch of games but what stood out for me was his hesitation in releasing the ball that almost always turned in to a turnover. He couldn't pick up the pace of the game, which was unfortunate.

Has anybody actually studied the draw? Anyone for a ladder prediction?
If all results go as predicted - with us losing to Melbourne and Collingwood, winning all other games - we miss the 8. Beat one of them, we make the 8 but our position is dependent on other results.

Good thing about yesterday was when Port got some ascendancy is the second and third quarters we didn’t give up string of goals. Think the most the got was two in a row. In previous years we’d give up 5 and then be on the back foot again.

4 of our last 6 games are 8 point games, win them and will seriously derail our oppositions finals run, lose them and the same for us.

Can we please stop getting injuries to important players[emoji120][emoji120]

It might be too late for Carlton, but TDK needs to be first ruck and allowed to develop with an attacking game style.
Within 18 months, he's going to be a ripper.
Other clubs can see that

We see the potential too, but what I want to see is TDK sign for 2 years at slightly inflated money and get to free agency where Carlton has seen that he can consistently play to the level of what other clubs offers are being presented which is way way overs for what he’s produced so far

Jeremias thank * JSOS played. Another best on according to champion data.

He was terrific yesterday wasn’t he. Great performance.

Funnily enough in a role I said Port wouldn’t be able to match up on well.

I’d go back and bring up all the silly calls you’ve made but it’s Sunday and I want to enjoy the last day of the weekend…and the next week.

Hewett was good. Hewett was a direct replacement for Kennedy in style. I don't think of it as Hewett over Dow as such. Different types for sure.

What I did enjoy from Dow is his willingness to throw himself at the ball in order to trap it and give it out.
Dow did some lovely things. Good addition I thought.
Great photo of SOS from the Age article on us.

Can’t remember the last time I’ve calmly watched my team take apart the opposition for four weeks in a row.

Still have moments of anxiety due to the PTSD from 25 years of ‘Carlton type’ performances/lapses, but I am beginning to enjoy watching us play. I even have a little faith that we can meet the challenges when the opposition lift, which is most unusua1.

Shout out to Fog. I was somewhat surprised by his selection as I didn’t see what role he would play. But must eat my words as he has played his role brilliantly. Is a foot soldier who is hard as nails and gives 100%. Links up well. Really adds to our team ethos.

All going to plan and we should beat West Coast. Hopefully Harry is ok (praying for bone bruising). Saad maybe needs to rest that ankle.

Not sure who comes in for H, but I’d love Cowan in for Saad.

Not looking further ahead than that..

Some very salty and sore losers on the Poort board.

Apparently we're still awful and Port were just more awful-er, all thanks to Ken probably.

Absolutely no credit for our effort at all.

Got so drunk, when I woke up had to check whether We won or lost🥴 Watching the replay now. Wondering if I need a beer.
Not great this getting drunk stuff T John.
Shout out to the young man who stumbled carrying 3 pots of beer without a carry tray and turned my shoes into a brewery. Lovely. Ta. Appreciated the slurred apology.
:p

We were amazing
Really enjoying the game style
Fast and through the corridor , taking the game on and lots and lots of pressure at the ball
Our lesser likes were a treat to watch
Fog, sos, mots and acres played their best games forbthe club
Gov and bot are back and kelpie and newman were awesome
Crippa played a massive second half, especially 4th qtr and CC is an incredible talent
Let's use next week and maybe put some guys on ice and focus on the pies and run home
H, fingers crossed, we need him to have any chance of being a serious threat.
Had he have stayed on we may have won by 80+
The list looks pretty good 5 weeks on and Vossy can coach
And cunners and Martin going very well
Lots of teams not looking forward to playing these blues
No rests, that's what has cost Port, we're on a roll so keep it going as deep into September as possible, otherwise completely agree with you Athens....

Just 22 solid contributions

Was just a prefect Saturday evening

Newman, Gov, JSOS, Motts in the bests
