Voss honeymoon was over at the 2022 bye.
Could be the case, or when this change, it won't be

He was brought in to bring an underperfoming list to finals and premiership contention.
If you expected this group as a lock for finals last year, that's more about your unrealistic expectations

Sayers put this on the agenda from the day he sacked Teague.

Like all club presidents
Its laughable, that when posters like me called out Voss's BS around percentage not being important after blowing a 7goal lead vs Hawthorn last year, we were told we were too negative

Percentage is a factor, wins moreso
Funny our percentage became a factor 20games later.

Or that our 1 wood had been figured out, and Voss and his team needed to adjust.

Every side knows each others gameplan
Excuse then was oh know, its all about injuries, just you wait and see

We are 6 rounds in. You calling it now we won't make finals?
Or, the talent isnt good enough and we have conditional players like Fisher who need to be dropped and moved on.

You mean IMHO
Excuse was Fisher had his best year statiscally.
Fact
Or given him a full year with the list, there will be big changes in 2022 off season.

Who stated that?
And then there wasnt, on or offield. But salary cap, but you cant just go player shopping

Tell how that would play out
Or given Cook said post r23, theyd look into fitness and conditioning dept

So still no one can answer what they did

They did, what answer did you want?

There’s issue’s everywhere at the Carlton football club. Starting with Voss. We have midfielders who don’t score goals, we have a Coleman medallist who looks terrified whenever he is going for goal. We have sos who misses bunnies. We have Jack Martin who averages 4 games a year. And our small forwards who are inconsistent.
Where are the goals going to come from. Over to you Voss.

Honestly, I think we're still paying the sins of the club's mentality from when it was Bolton and Silvagni.

Players were brought up into a system that encouraged green shoots and accepting losses. So long as players flashed some type of development (a "green shoot") the end result didn't matter so much.

Clubs like Melbourne have shown how difficult similar mentalites are to overcome. They stagnated for years until they brought Paul Roos and subsequently Goodwin in as his successor. When it finally fired they won a premiership but before that they yo-yo'd badly.

I can't recall the last time we truly had a win at all costs mentality. R22 and R23 last year is the closest we've come to that for years even though we fell agonisingly short both times.

That mentality needed to become the base line this year. However, we are so far off that pace that it truly feels as though most of the players are happy to show up and as long as they do something good they'll get the pat on the back.
Don't forget Mark Williams another hard arse, Premiership coach and kicking skills maestro.

The numbers are staggering
Cripps 34 pos
Cerra 39
Walsh 38
Acres 36

Harry 14 marks.
Tell me that pre game and I say we win comfortably.

We got heaps of the ball. Most of our good players had good games. Yet we kick 8 goals.

To me this isn't something that can't and will be fixed relatively quickly.
First step is Hansen getting the forwards to actually have a plan. Earlier in the season, it was Harry and Charlie are stepping on each others toes... stop having all the forwards crowd around... Translation -> Let Harry play more up the ground to become a marking outlet... and also stop the little crumbers from hovering at Charlies/JSOS feet as well.

heck me... bring Eddie back to see if he can coach some forward craft strategy into these smalls and leak a bit of Geelong intel in doing so.

Martin and Cunnigham. How can this be called out as missing links.

Time to move on and past these list cloggers

Well what they bring certainly is what is missing. Happy to move on from the players mentioned if they cant get fit (which unfortunately seems likely) but we are genuinely missing a "Martin" type and a "Cunningham" type

It is really important that Voss demands the players take the game on with more coridoor footy or go back to last year's handball intensive game plan. It may cost us larger losing margins initially but the players need to reverse the negative mindset and learn to transition. Our current method will preclude finals wins.

Disagree, they just need to get a rocket and start playing with a sense of urgency.

Voss doesn't want use the corridor!

Vossy's post-game press conference body language doe not reflect the disappointment we're all feeling.

Where's the gum-chewing, jaw-dropping Brisbane Bears killer eyes look gone?
10 years of being knocked back as a senior coach and so over developed his "people skills". Take a leaf from Ross' book... I'm still a prickly sod, just a bit less so now..

Throw vossy to full forward

Absolutely biffed them in the stats.

How can we not find a way to goal?
I don’t follow stats but could some of it be related to us using more links in a chain to move ball same distance as saints?

eg from backline we go up a bit, sideways a bit, switch to other side and back a little before moving into f50 with a long bomb? We must think we are fooling oppo players by switching but we don’t do it effectively.

Because Ross knew exactly how we would play & parked the bus. They used our slowness to ensure they were perfectly set up & waited (to be fair they set up bloody quickly anyway, we just made sure they didn’t have to rush about it). We then stuffed around with the ball just racking up stats.
Hewitt 29 touches for 30m gained is one of the most extraordinary stats ever

Please clarify last sentence…

Well it's a good thing I've found a new hobby and community to join on the weekend. Really enjoyed myself.

Leaves me kind of over this club and footy for now. Just don't have the passion and patience to endure another cycle of this nonsense that will potentially at some point in time, see yet another sacked coach.

Won't ever change clubs. I am Carlton through and through till the day I die. But it's just the club's tedious and uninspiring approach now alongside the current landscape of the game. Mentally, I am not all there and just want to focus on other things. It's why I have ceased the injury charts and don't speak much here anymore. Footy has been unhealthy for me.

I said it before and I'll say it again. There is no game plan. No system. No sync. Nothing but chaos and panic from the players. They are running all over the place. We threw out something promising last year without replacing it. I'm starting to think Voss and the coaches don't truly know what they are looking for out of this group. Carlton and everything about them right now is like a rambling Biden.

There's a bunch of players who I think should be moved on at the end of the year for a variety of reasons, the problem is that we'd get nothing for most of them. Not a great list position to be in.

I think we’ve got a few players more concerned about making mistakes than winning games.

Playing safe won’t win flags
Ive felt this since watching the round one game and our slow methodical crapola game style … I’m feeling we’ve completely lost our composure after our capitulation at the end of last season … and that’s players and coaches …

Got to say, we are missing Martin and Cunningham.
Really? They've barely been on the park.
If either Martin or Cunningham play more than 10 games this year I'll eat my hat. In fact both should be gone at seasons end. Martin (despite his talent) is a TOTAL BUST, Cunners has only really showed glimpses but he's cooked for mine. Sadly I think we signed Martin for 5 years! So one mnore shit year to clip his ticket.
Our "fitness"staff ruined both of them. They have plenty to answer for.
Martin: AFL Tables - Jack Martin - Stats - Statistics - Every game in Martins top 10 are for GC. The best game he played for us was his very 1st against Richmond.
Cunningham: AFL Tables - David Cuningham - Stats - Statistics - 41 games in 7 full years. Has not played since May 2021. Not a typo. I hope he's doing some courses on career transition cos he's stuffed.
