Starting to feel the price for Pick 1 will be to steep and we should go to the draft with hopefully 3 picks inside the top 10
I hope so. The only thing we could do to not be huge winners is overpay for pick 1. Hope we just take our best picks to the draft, upgrade the later first rounders if possible

Ok, I reckon we won't get Reid. I think Melbourne will.
Dees will trade 6, 11 and a Future first.
Dees get pick 1.

Think WC pretty confident Curtin will be at pick 6, which if you look at the order they'd be pretty right.
1.Reid - Dees
2.McKercher - NM
3.Dursma - NM
4.Watson - Hawks
5.Sanders - WB
6.Curtin -WC

Hawks and Dogs would almost be hoping we get Reid as it then puts Curtin in top 2 or 3, sliding Dursma and Watson down 1 pick to each of them respectively.

Question here is Dursma. Do we want Dursma or Curtin, because if we ain't taking Curtin at 3 the deal for pick 1 will be dead IMO

I would safely bet WC don't feel confident Curtin will be there at 6 and I'm not even 100% he's their second option.

Delist bonar and mahoney gives us 7 senior spots. Then we get biggy and Pink which leaves us with 5 senior list spots. Guess it'll then depend on what other targets we may have
If we got Haynes in a Salary Dump, that only requires us to use 4 draft picks.

Pick 1 - secured off West Coast and taken by North
Pick 2 - sent to West Coast
Pick 3 - taken by North
Pick 7 - secured off GWS and on traded to West Coast
Pick 15 - taken by North
Pick 17 - on traded to GWS as part of Haynes Salary Dump
Pick 18 - taken by North

Our Draft/Period would end up looking like the below.

Pick 1
Pick 3
Pick 15
Pick 18
Haynes
Stephens
Fisher
Biggie
Pink

9 changes to the list. Massive price to pay for Pick 1, but if we rate Reid that highly and are only going to take 4 Picks at the ND, then the above is good business.

I’m not sure I want to do the deal myself, but even if we did we walk away from Trade Period with a smile on our face.

If we also wanted to leave a list spot open you then go after Geelong’s Pick 8 with 15 and 18 and take 3 kids in the top 8.

Current : 2, 3, 15, 17, 18.

Deal comes down to GWS 7, or Geel 8 essentially trading the two future priorities to facilitate this.

So we start with 3 PP's:
1 for Fisher & Stephens.
2 for Reid.

My original thoughts after home and away season was AFL 'assist' us with currency to secure Reid.

Funnily enough, it comes down to exactly this.

Our way to "win" trade week, is to somehow use salary cap to secure the GWS 7 and keep a "PP"... 1, 3, 17, 18.

I think most will view this as a win.

Ending with 1, 3, 18 is going to feel break even or less on the other hand.

Lol, Posted an almost identical break down

It isn't that uncommon.
I call BS…. If the bottom placed team had any intentions to draft the top rated kid the coach would have met with the kid and his parents by now.

Imagine Harley can’t be taking WC seriously if there not going to at least send Simpson to meet him and family.

Call bluff on WC there not considering him at all.

Well I don't see anyone in that top 6, other than us, taking Curtin.

Hawks? - Nup, zero chance ...they want Dursma, it's why they've been so shitty about our compo. Or they take Watson.
Dogs? - 100% no chance......they want Watson or Sanders, def don't need another tall
Melb? - they have played this beautifully IMO, actually think Jason Taylor is the best in the business

Think there's a few on the dees board that would jump at Curtain. Or Caddy. But they want to go KP.

Haven’t read through the previous 10 pages

However Duursma manager was on trade radio and all but revealed he is going to North if we hold picks 2 and 3.

Mckercher/Duursma looking odds on as things stand at 2/3.
How much of a need is Duursma with the amount of half forwards we have on our list? Also potentially add Reid into the mix and I’m not sure if he fits the bill?

Any chance the dees send pick 1 off to GC for Mr King?
GC take Reid with 1 and Walter bid gets pushed to minimum 2

I think we’re a very good chance to take Curtin based off various conversations.

The Eagles are a little dangerous to me should they get two in that they might prefer McKercher. To a lesser degree I recall they’re fans of Duursma too but that would be less likely only if they traded Reid for go home factor and not because they got a decent bounty.

Either way, if we want Reid we’ve shifted into a position where we probably won’t be outbid for him.

Mckercher/Duursma looking odds on as things stand at 2/3.
But the manager for Zane, David Trotter, told AFL Trade Radio on Thursday he doesn’t believe Zane will still be available past pick three or pick five depending on who eventually holds those selections.

“I said to Adrian [Dodoro, Essendon] ‘How good are you?’ - if they manage to get up there I would be shocked,” Trotter told AFL Trade Radio on Thursday.

“I think he will be gone early. If North has pick two or three, I think there is a fair good chance [Zane is selected] but teams don’t do that any more [make guarantees] but I don’t think he slips past four or five.

“He’s inside that pick three to five range.”

Zane Duursma is a 189 centimetre half forward flanker. We have 100 of those. There is absolutely zero chance we take Mckercher and duursma. Zero chance.

We’ve had meetings with him, been to his house and met the family.
I’d suggest there is some chance.
