I'm concerned how many potential A-graders we have on the list.

I would say we have no current A-graders. Goldy & Cunners are probably past it, and won't figure in our next flag anyhow.

Simpkin - nope.
L Mac - nope.
LDU - is a probable but needs to take that final step.
Larkey - nope B to B+.
Zuurhar - nope B.
McKay - nope B
Log - doubtful B+ max
Thomas - f**k knows
Stephenson - nope
Scott - nope
Taylor - nope
Chom - doubtful (please prove me wrong)
Perez - doubtful

Not much there.... so we need 4 to 5 A-graders to come out of our last 3 drafts -

Phillips
Powel
Curtis
Goater
Bergman
Sheezel
Wardlaw
George
Archer
Harvey

That is a very high strike rate.

Then we will probably have to follow that up with another 1 or 2 A-graders in this years draft.

Hmmm....
Care to review your grading after a couple of rounds?

I notice Jiath could be on the chopping block this week for the Hawks, with their board having him as a consistent one they want out to make a statement.

Now, that is a player I would be very willing to have a look at with some draft currency at the end of the year if he gets disgruntled during this year.

No idea of his relationship with Clarko, but you would think it couldn't hurt....
Correct me if I’m wrong but Jiath sounds very anglo , think he maybe of Scottish descent So I canny see any issues there.

He’s a lock to be in Geelong hoops next year.
Probably along with King. All that salary cap that they’ll free up when Hawkins retires…..even though he is apparently playing for half a sandwich and a packet of chips.

If I remember correctly back in his draft year, Gresham is closely connected to Boomer & his family

Yep, Boomer played footy with Gresham’s old man.

One that’s not on that list coming out of contract that I’d be all over is Lachie Ash.
Would thrive in a Clarkson coached team with his foot skills.

I've been on this kids bandwagon for a few years, glad to hear he's parked contract talks.

YOUNG GIANT NEXT PRIORITY

GREATER Western Sydney will turn its attention to re-signing dashing defender Lachie Ash, but the young gun has parked contract talks for now.

The Giants have locked away two top-ten picks in the past month – Tom Green and Finn Callaghan – but now the 2019 No.4 pick is a clear priority for GWS boss Jason McCartney.

Ash is understood to not be in a rush to put pen to paper on a new deal, but there aren't the same fears the club had with Tanner Bruhn this time last year.

The 21-year-old was moved around a lot in his first three seasons, playing in attack, on a wing and even as a tagger at times. But new senior coach Adam Kingsley has used him in his preferred position at half-back to start 2023.

Ash is happy in Sydney and settled at the Giants, but wants to get some runs on the board across the first couple of months under a new regime before negotiating a new contract.

We should go hard for Ben King.

We have cap space and the picks to make the trade happen.

Is he similar player to Larkey?
Could King play higher up the field?
Could or should we use the draft picks on other ares of need?

They’re the queries I have, but he’s a bloody good player. Before the knee I think he was tracking to becoming the best forward in the game.

Ben played a lot of his junior footy as a CHB. Im sure he can operate up the ground if needed.

Key forward is propably our greatest area of need and he fits well with our demographic. If we draft a KPF he will take a few years to be fully ready.
