I'm generally of the opinion that social media likes mean * all, but Miles Bergman liked this one talking up our young blokes and future. And didn't bother to like the post just before this one, by the same account, that harped on about Poort's winning streak. Ofc he could just be happy for his cousin. At the very least, I'd be surprised if he isn't weighing up a return to Vic
Would be amusing trading ports pick back to them for bergman

Also there is no relation to ours

not sure if you're just trying to keep the myth going, but miles and miller are not actually related
Knew they weren't brothers, but after I saw that one played for Sandringham and the other for Dandenong, I honestly just assumed that their families were connected in the south east, just with Miles' clan enjoying the superior financial outcomes. Thanks for clarifying though lol. Certainly not the first surname you'd think of when it comes to coincidences

Thinking about our list in 2024.

With Fordy coming on (he's still just 20) it reminds you that we have some young guns that still need a little time. I feel Fordy will be a big-time player too. I'm now feeling really optimistic about next year - a changing of the guard in terms of younger players taking over - and the kids certainly have some talent.

Retirees - Cunners / Jack / Bonar / Turner / Edwards / Young

LMAC - Logue - McKay
Tarryn - Bergman - Goater
Scott - Warlord - Ford
Simpkin - Comben - Sheez
Zurharr - Larkey -, CCJ
Xerri - LDU - Phillips

Int: Curtis - Stevo - Perez - B George

Emg: Powell - Goldy - C Taylor - Hugh G (contracted)

Draft: Reid, pick 16, pick 36, 54, trade in developing key backman, developing key back/forward

Depth:
Lazza - can he break in? He'll give it a crack.
Tucker - can he get the body right? Is contracted.
Corr - depth and leadership around the club, contracted.
Shiels - Ressies on field coach (need leaders to support young boys and he has been amazing this year!)
Dawson - needs more developing and we don't have many KPDs
Hall - depth but might also be improved in a team of skillful kids.
Howe
Rookie Mahoney - good kid, done his shoulder. Give him a final contract to prove himself.

Kids needing time: Drury, Coops Harvey, Spicer (1 more year as Rookie), Hanson Jnr, Free, Archer.

Hall - depth but might also be improved in a team of skillful kids.
No Thanks GIF

We won't get a look at Reid imo. We won't finish last and if WCE trade no. 1 it would be to GWS or Hawks.
My money would be on Hawks trading their 1st ande DGB to WCE and they'd probably jump at that getting a top 10 WA kid back and draft another WA kid.
Something a bit suss with Hawks not playing DBG over Frosty.

I think * should have a crack at Darcy Parish. Looks like a real * type and Brad can assign himself Band 1 compensation for poaching his own player.
Dodoro would hold himself over a barrel asking for something outrageous until he gave in in the final minutes of trade week, holding up several other trades in the process.

Hall is first delisted at years end

Almost need a thread for free agency and trade targets and a seperate thread for delistings
I love that the repetitive nature of people on here saying who they would delist is annoying you.

I'd delist Bailey Scott personally.

If we offer our pick 2, 16-18 and then next years first would that be enough to have a chance of getting West Coasts pick 1..if not then l would look at maybe changing the offer to include a player like Zuurhar. For me he just doesnt do enough for all the hype that he has gained over the years. His game is either hot or cold and isnt consistant and l for 1 dont think he is as good as others have stated.

What a great career by Edwards - hope he enjoys retirement

We'd be stupid to get rid of him, mate. Who are the genuinely explosive players on the list at the moment? Zurhaar, LDU, Wardlaw, Comben (with an asterisk due to the injury curse). Maybe Phillips can join that list in time but he isn't there yet. Maybe B George can too but we don't know how his career pans out.

So that's four players. In a game that's increasingly being dominated by explosive and skilful players, we have four of them. These blokes are game breakers. It was just two weeks ago that Zurhaar kicked three goals in a quarter to keep us in it. Not a chance we get rid of him

Dude wtf.

That'd be a top two pick and top five pick next year and Pick 15-18. We'd be crazy to do that.
I'd rather a collection of top 18 kids at this point than one gun player. Not sure Reid is that level but happy to be proven wrong.

We have a dearth of quality across the board, we could literally delist 10 blokes without more than a "ho hum" and even then we would have another 10 who can be best described as possibly being able to claim spots 16-22 in the team. Insanity to trade out that many quality picks.

I get frustrated by Hall as well but both Clarko and Rats have selected him this year despite his shortcomings…. the weak defensive efforts and clangers which sometimes kill us.
But he can break lines and rack up numbers and does do some good things too.
Obviously our coaches think he does it better than Perez, Youngie, Drury who have also played half back at this stage of their careers.
Why not keep him as depth? Next year we’ll want to win games so why cut some one that could fill a role in emergencies?

ok Rob if you can find another 7 plus 2 emergencies we will give the 8 a fair crack.

It just infuriates me that Collingwood can pickup guys like Mcreery, Murphy, Frampton, Johnson with junk picks and turn them into very serviceable role players straight away that fit their team needs.

All our lower picks are pure speculation - Spicer, Goater and Curtis etc. Yeah they may have talent but it's going to take a hell of a lot of time and investment to see it bear fruit if at all.

The role players we bring in like Greenwood, Shiels, or Howe are just mates of the coaches, they hardly fit an overarching strategy to list or team balance like the way Collingwood and other teams go about it.

Even Tucker is just weird. So many additional random midfielders who don't offer anything to the needs of the team except experience. And don't get me started on the plethora of half backs clogging the list. Bonar just a spec trade turned into another half back f***ing lol.

No sense of recruiting to benefit the team
No understanding of future trends in the game
No sense of list balance whatsoever

So so so far behind

Not saying I want to sack more people as I think Luff was an idiot but they need a performance review and then some

McCreery, Murphy, Frampton and Johnson are the types of players that look like genius selections when they're playing in a side high on confidence, playing for each other with a number of high quality players clicking around them.

Slot any of those 4 guys into our current side and all 4 would end up being a whipping boy at one point or another. There'd be complaints about why we traded for Port Adelaide and Adelaide shitman Billy Frampton or recruited another half forward in Johnson or McCreery when we so badly need a winger or a distributor off half back.

When we start winning and get a roll on, it'll be amazing how many list clogger types are the envy of other clubs due to them producing a whole lot after we spend very little for them.

Sharp from Brissie in OOC this year and can't break into a strong HB line. Wasn't there some buzz around him when drafted? An upgrade on any of our HBF's?

On SM-G781B using BigFooty.com mobile app
Yeah could be a good free value get

I’d rather quality in ash, Clark or miles Bergman tho as out of contract targets

Sharp is not a bad fall back likewise GCs sharp also
