Is there any truth to the rumours that North (and possibly St Kilda) are targeting Zac Butters? I’m hearing six years at what would work out to be a bit over a million a year, with the increase in salary cap coming soon. Come home to Victoria factor is in play also.

Now that he’s established himself as a bona fide up and coming star he and his management are seeking to ensure he is appropriately rewarded.

Can't see it happening. I think if we're targeting anyone with big money it'll be a KPP or Ruckman. Not that our midfield is the finished product but it's where we've invested all our draft capital for the past few years, we kind of have to back it for list balance reasons

I highly doubt the Butters dealings involves us at all. Possibly his management is using any club to force Port Powers to pay overs but if they are dropping North in it as a club looking for a big fish, then they are about 5 years late.

Honestly, at this point we could grease the wheels with the Port pick, offer five years, same as Logue, average that sucker at $650k p/a, heavily front loaded, and I'd still say it was an outstanding deal given our current needs.
