Keep in mind you could also argue do we need another small midfielder given Soligo is a lock and Taylor could potentially be a starting midfielder in the future.

Personally I’d rather we not overthink our list composition too much when it comes to our future midfield. Just take whoever you think will be the best player regardless of size. A surplus can quickly become a deficit and vice versa.
Unfortunately the player we need Sam Lalor will likely be gone by our pick so hopefully Draper is there.

A smart summary as usual , can’t pick for needs at pick 4

What we need right now will be different in 3-5 years time and we hope this pick 4 is a 12+ year player

Reminds me of 12 + months ago when we thought we needed a petty type for defence but turns out we were fine with Murray Worrell and Keane coming thru . We could have burnt early capital on a supposed need

Let’s just pick who We think will be best mid for next 10+ years

Totally agree with this. If they like Langford more than Draper at 4 I'm happy for them to back themselves in and select Langford.

How many kids that have dedicated themselves to footy and being drafted are miles off fitness wise in their draft year?
Not a whole lot, usually those expected to go in the 1st round are mostly the highly dedicated types that have had a burning desire to play AFL.

The problem with Tyler it appears he has known for quite some time he was almost certainly going to be a Crow.

I still think if he'd stayed at WWT he would have carved up the SA U18 comp and probably therefore been thought of a lot higher. I guess the thought was by Adelaide get him in so he sees how hard he needs to work at the higher level?

Someone mentioned he left school this year too which might not help with more unstructured time on his hands, can anyone confirm that?

There were some of us who were comfortable with Keane, Murray, Worrell and Butts ;)

Best post here. We get caught up in the now and in reality draftees will likely be hitting their straps when our list composition has changed a lot (expected or unexpected)

Jordan Dawson turns 28 in April. He's going to be in his 30s during our premiership window. I don't think size should be a disqualifying factor at all when there will be a 10 year age gap between a draftee and Dawson

Or maybe just to take eyes off him a bit 😉

Warming to idea us taking Langford even if Draper available

Cal has him 2 in power ranking behind levi

What do we think?

The noise is growing stronger by the day
I reckon he’s right in mix but have feeling we have Draper ahead

Prob got
1. Draper
2. Lalor
3. Langford

I’d have Lalor 1 but don’t think we will get access to him

Agree with if he stayed at WWT he would have been thought of more highly. That should with his 8 goals in the one U 18 Sanfl game he played.
You may know - how many forwards kicked 8 goals in a game this year at any state league or national comp level? Probably none?

I think the kid will do just fine on his 2km when officially on our list. Not top of the pops - but no worse than Taylor was doing this time last year when lagging behind the group
