Cal is trying to second guess what all 18 clubs are doing , so might be stretched a bit thin

what some of the bits I've gleaned from various shows , we seemed to have talked to pretty much most of the top 30

but with upto 8 picks to use in a "super draft" it just looks like due diligence to me , plus we have had a good talent spotter in the West (Broad, Baker , Bolton , K Mac , Steely , Blight , Pickett , Parker... and plenty more ) so again no surprise if that person or group have a short list of serious talent to sus out again

an update , our talent spotter in the west sounds like its Sam Cousins who's been in the role for 14 years , explains a bit
and the club has been involved in 50 home interviews ahead of the draft

to me anyway , it does sound like the club has done the leg work , now fingers crossed it turns in to 8 solid or better picks

His track record is extraordinary,

Yes. Jagga is pretty much guaranteed to provide good service in the midfield long term.

If you can build a well structured high capability midfield around Jagga you will have a great midfield. We have the picks and can FA/trade to get that array of 3 or 4 other mids. He is like a turbo charger to me. If the midfield is crap then he makes them less crap, maybe even OK. If it is OK he will make it good, if good, then very good. If very good then elite.

Lalor has the ability to break games open.

So does Smillie, but maybe not the high end ceiling.

So I look at the package, not the individuals. Jagga is awesome with other good players. And he is a safer pick.

Could be wrong, I am just going off my own opinion about how to build a centending team.

if we get to 6 and both are available then we should be on the phone with the saints
