If Pendles doesn't miss a game, round 18 v Geelong will be his 400th game.
Which would be fitting as he played his 300th against them, in a final in 2019.
More than ever, the game is purely about getting a Q next to your name.Tough draw.
Just need to be top 4 though to feasibly be in it late in September
Richmond won 3 flags when finishing 3rd in the H&A season each time
So 15-16 wins should do
Which this group is entirely capable of
Saints requested to play us at the G to increase their $$ from the gate, that’s on them and their choice. So you'd rather play, for example, the Lions there instead?
I remember all the carry on this year about playing them there & how Marvel was more of an advantage to them than us...and they did beat us there.
Saints are a tenant of Marvel, yet we're playing them at our home ground for their home match.

I'm not suggesting we did ask to play our home game against Doggies at Marvel. But maybe we did? I don't know.Marvel tenants regularly request we play their home game against us at the G but that’s generally because they’re looking for the financial windfall. Ditto the Cats. Not sure we’d have ever asked to play a Marvel tenant there for our home game. It’s a significant difference.

I simply don't understand all the hoohah over it.
We need to play a certain amount of games at Marvel & personally, I'd rather play Doggies there, than Lions as an example.
It's not a disadvantage if we win. And tbh, I'd probably prefer to play Doggies at Marvel over anyone else. There are 8 interstate sides, a couple of fellow MCG tenants, and the Cats, all whom we could play at Marvel as our home game. Plenty of alternatives. We don’t play any of our home games against them at their home ground. Why should Marvel tenants be any different? Conceding any home ground advantage disadvantages Collingwood.

We could go around & around in circles all night.Totally nonsensical argument. There’s a reason teams have Home and Away games. A home ground advantage is just that. We beat a lot of sides interstate on their home grounds, doesn’t mean they don’t hold a home ground advantage, just as teams beat us at the G.
We could go around & around in circles all night.
We get plenty of games at the G. Both home & away.
Seriously? we have nothing to complain about.
We're playing Doggies at Marvel as our home game. We're playing Saints at the G for their home game.
Big deal.
The only advantage I care about is winning.
Really? So, even though a generational team like Australia beat India 2-1 in 2004 in India, it wasn't a disadvantage playing in India because they won? It's not a disadvantage if we win. And tbh, I'd probably prefer to play Doggies at Marvel over anyone else.
All I'm saying is if I have the choice between playing Doggies or Lions at Marvel as a home game..I prefer Doggies. It's not that complicated.Really? So, even though a generational team like Australia beat India 2-1 in 2004 in India, it wasn't a disadvantage playing in India because they won?
Again, you're focussing on individual outcomes to substantiate a spurious argument that teams playing at venues they call home don't gain an advantage, however small that advantage may be.
That's not the argument that's being made though. Why narrow it to a choice between Brisbane and the Dogs? All I'm saying is if I have the choice between playing Doggies or Lions at Marvel as a home game..I prefer Doggies. It's not that complicated.
I simply expressed an opinion on who I'd rather we play at Marvel as a home game. And I chose Dogs because that's who we play next season at Marvel as a home game. I chose Lions because that's who we played last season at Marvel as a home game. That's not the argument that's being made though. Why narrow it to a choice between Brisbane and the Dogs?
"I guess our players and fans are looking forward to giving him a warm welcome when he does get here, assuming he's in the side"Thar GWS fwit Dave Matthews has fired back at Coxy today over his denigration of their ground
Another faux rivalry against a club we could not care less about

Have a listen to the players post GF and there have been numerous comments about how we switched off once we had that part of the season sorted.
Draw is what it is.
Would we all prefer qualifying against rubbish teams? Only to get smoked because we have no learnings from good teams?
Speaking of Richmond….we don’t beat them in 2018 if we don’t play them twice (for 2 losses) during the season.
We don’t beat Bris this year in the GF if we don’t play them twice….for 2 losses.
If fly doesn't deal with james sicily again I will boycott all pies hawks games. blind freddy could've seen he needed to be dealt with and nothing happenedPies FIXTure ia the same every year
14 MCG games
3 Marvel games
5 games outside vic
+ gather round
In 2023
14 MCG games, just 4 are against non vic teams
3 Marvel, "home" against Dogs
5 games outside vic, 4 in NSW and QLD and just 1 trip to Perth
+ gather round v Hawks
Being premier we have tough double up games - Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Carlton - and the usual Ess dbl who will expect to improve and the "easy" dbl is Hawthorn a team we always struggle against.
Good commercial FIXture, but tough onfield.
