Anyone else experiencing problems with Cats Shop site. Trying to order my Members Choice item and cannot get past Shipping. Click continue but nothing happens. No error shown. Does anyone know when they will have merchandise in the shop. There is virtually nothing there.

Got mine sorted, already upgraded to Premiership membership, not going too early... right?

I've held mine every year since 2011...

You get a season like 2022 and even with those years between it's been the best investment

If there are no cards any longer, what is the go with the Social Club?
Can anyone walk in there now?
As per an earlier post there ARE cards again, BUT you have to OPT-IN....and the AFL is doing a dandy job of not having the clubs clearly tell members this.

I just received Social Club items in the mail. There was a lanyard but no card. I contacted the club via webchat to check if cards would be sent out later and was told they would be. I was then given the option to have digital access to the ground or have the access included on my Social Club Card. I took the single card option. Not sure what would have happened if I did not make the enquiry. First home game for GMHBA is not till 22 April so time for the club to do emails. Not sure on access for MCG home games in rounds 1 and 4.

Regular seat member here. The kids' "kinder cats" packs arrived, a single bumper sticker (I assume for me) and the $20 voucher that can go towards the members cap or scarf or just Cats Shop use. No lanyard no member card (which I specified to opt-in for when I renewed.

Might call the club later in the week to see what's what. Some detailed email comms (like many years past would be helpful if they want to keep people in the loop)

Here is an update from the club regarding plastic membership cards:

Dear ****,

In 2023, we’re giving members new choices when it comes to their membership, including the option of using Mobile Membership or a plastic membership card.
As a progressive club, we continue to innovate for our members. With a new 40,000 seat stadium on the horizon, we’re excited by the new digital opportunities that a mobile first approach to ticketing will create.
We understand that after trialling Mobile Membership in 2022, some members would still prefer to use a plastic membership card. If you would prefer a plastic membership card in 2023, please let us know by 5pm Tuesday 28 February via the below link.
If you’re happy to continue using Mobile Membership in 2023, you don’t need to do anything. We’ll let you know more about how to use your Mobile Membership closer to the season.

In previous years (when the opt-in first came along) that "link" never worked, and it was confirmed by the club when I called to request an update, only to be told they had to manually do it..so yeah I don't trust their janky workaround. They have my sympathies though, this is more AFL-driven shenanigans.

Just called club right before they closed for the day. Plastic member cards and lanyards (despite many reported as having received their lanyard already), are being processed to be sent mid-Feb, with arrival first week of March.

Me either. Hence the reason why I went through the process of emailing them after I clicked on the link and completed it. I have a family membership, and my wife and kids are linked to my account, there was no option to select plastic cards for them, so I thought I would put in a request in writing via email.

I requested the four of us receive plastic cards, so if the link hasn't worked, I have a record of the email I have sent requesting the cards.

Geelong vs Collingwood has been classified a category 1 match by the MCC, which means provisional MCC members have no access to the match.

Last year only the Anzac Day match has this classification from memory (as well as Boxing Day day 1/2.)

It’s a bit disappointing, guess I’ll have to pay for a ticket in general seating. I guess they’re anticipating a sell out then.

First time I’ve seen this - if your kids have a Geelong membership and you’re an MCC member, you can take them into the members for Geelong home games at no additional charge. This will save me having to “double dip” when I take them to MCG home games and have had to pay for them as MCC visitors in the past. However, there’s bugger all information regarding how this will work e.g. how do you prove they‘re GFC members when trying to book reserved seats through ticketek? I’m sure it’ll turn into a farse in Round 1 with no one having worked out the logistics of it.

Does anyone know if you can pass on your membership to others to use? I know you can probably scan through and it’s unlikely anyone will ask any questions. But I’m hoping there’s a more flexible approach generally even if questioned.
I’m thinking of getting a family membership but the other adult membership would get used by a couple of different family members.
Usually just my son and I get memberships but I’m hoping we can get others to come more often this year.

Club membership is transferrable no problems (unless adult on a concession/junior ticket).

AFL and MCC memberships are strict.

For such a well run club, gee our membership department leave a lot to be desired. Every year my renewal is wrong and I have to contact the club to get it resolved. Every year I get emails with either the wrong barcodes, or not all of them listed in the email..

Just got the email with the barcodes to use for Melbourne H&A games. My three kids (junior) barcodes are listed, but no barcodes for my wife and I. Gee they make it hard. Now I have to send another email or call them Monday morning. It happens every year. I have on a number of occassions given them respectful feedback that there are issues with their systems / processes, and not only is that frustrating for members, it also creates additional work for them.

It just means they have to respond to many more emails and phone calls from members when it could of been avoided in the first instance by getting things right. It's an ongoing problem and it must be stretching their resources when they have to rectify errors, the same ones that get made every year.

As a 'Home' member living interstate (who consequently gets to one game at K.P. each year, at best), I can't say I've experienced anything like the issues that you've raised here. But this board typically features a number of examples of our members who find themselves messed around through the membership renewal process each year.

So I absolutely sympathise with you about the frustration that goes with all this. As you say, the club has come on in leaps and bounds in so many areas over recent years. Yet the membership process still seems almost as ad hoc and slipshod as it was 20 years ago.

Not having a go at the staff, specifically. But it just seems their processes could do with a solid dose of moving out of the 1980's and into something a little more contemporary.

Before everyone turns on this comment and tries to defend the club in any way shape or form. I do agree with this, membership department lacks a lot of things, ask them a question and half the time they don’t even know the answer.

I know there’s probably a lot of stress on them right now, but cmon it gets to a point where it’s just ridiculous.

What do we get with memberships this year?

I haven't received the last few years of hat/scarf so not sure what's going on.
Surprised you haven't had the choice of a scarf or cap in previous years. The membership renewal has been a bit of a dogs breakfast this year. But eligible members have been given the usual scarfe/cap deal.

Yeah I got my cap a few days ago.
