No, but if a player holds out the entire year that year doesnt count towards his contract. In other words Reddick wouldnt be a free agent next year despite this being the final year of his contact, he would still be on the Jets under the same pay as he currently is.Have asked this before on twitter and got no replies...
If a team trades for a player and that player holds out from the get go, can the team not rescind the trade just like they can when a player fails his physical?
