No. Like me he actually bothered to watch some of his games to form his view.

He's depth. Thats it. Hes not shifting the dial which was my point and dont think hes clearly best 22
Can you just draw me a list of our mids from best to worst and slot peatling in where you see he fits. Cheers.

Pretty stupid. Opens themselves up for this.

Their president also had a whinge about how unfair the academy and draft system is.

The same club that took McCartin over Petracca and Billings over Bontempelli mind you..

Have a listen.. a couple points you can't help but agree with him..

Whats that mean ? Did chris fagan coach an afl before brisbane ?

He’s the coaching director, a step above our coach. Take off your clappers, you can’t seriously say that you’re not underwhelmed with appointing a coaching director to oversee our coaches who hasn’t coached an AFL team.

If that’s not a slap in the face to Nicks I don’t know what is.

Now if they’ve got it wrong in the tweet and he’s a senior assistant that’s at least acceptable, it’s just a slap in the face to Burns.

So have we been well under the coaching cap or are we smashing through it?
I hope we are smashing through it! It has always felt like a Kmart discount squad of coaches. Now we are punching up to target standards!

Biggest load of shit I've ever read. Geelong are the biggest cheats of the past 20 years.

I'm sure Dank and the Weapon only started their dodgy shit after they went to Essendon.
Umm, whilst Geelong get away with some questionable things, how is Collingwood not in this conversation re biggest cheats?

Director

Had plenty of experience in the system and no doubt has learned a great deal from Fagan and co.
So he gets appointed coaching director without having coached an AFL team.

I suppose when you’ve got a coach as shit as Nicks he needs all the help he can get.

But if anyone on here is saying they aren’t shocked and underwhelmed by this appointment then they are full of shit and are supportive of it because they are a clapping Crows supporter.

I think Collingwood is a different story.
They just happen to play at the mcg every week and can attract players for being the biggest club (off field opportunities).

Geelong legit seem to have no salary cap.
And have used the Essendon drug regime before they moved to Essendon.

I'm talking about them being over the salary cap, then being told quietly, quietly to fix it in the background, which is why they forced out Treloar, which meant the AFL never had to give them any draft pick penalties, like we had, which was to avoid the furore of them either not getting Daicos or getting him but having to hold off on playing him for a couple of years. Then all these advantages mean they get a premiership a few years later. How is that an honest or fairly won premiership?

Haven't heard of him before, no idea if this is a good appointment or not. At least he has come from a successful club which is a good thing. Happy to give him the benefit of doubt for now.

He’s been at the Lions since 2011 in varying youth programs and assistant roles, his current role is forward line assistant coach

If he’s been appointed to replace Burns as senior assistant this would seem to be his first time as a senior asst - maybe he takes forward line and senior asst profile

However

Marco Bello also needs replacing and he seems to have a profile for for Head of Development role, maybe we should wait for the club announcement

I don’t think he is coming in as Coaching Director

His CV doesn’t scream “coaching director” to me. He’s been at one club forever, and never a senior coach.

I know he's deaf (well I think) and his speech is affected, but when I listen to Bassat I can't help but think of the Canadians in South Park. 'We want more money" :straining:

He's had the best part of 2 decades as a coach including the NT Thunder, I mean we all know the story of Chris Fagan don't we ??

I wouldn't say I'm a happy clapper, but I'm not willing to jump of the edge like you seem to be.

The guy obviously comes from a pretty good coaching system and has loads of experience in the AFL industry.
