Commentating on Australian tv.What's it got to do with the Australian sporting landscape?
Was an English commentator offending Indians.

I am sure there was no intent to offend. Im sure though that someone pointed out the connotations within the Australian sporting landscape, hence why she apologised the next day.

She actually said that she meant it in the sense of "of the first rank".Lol, that seems incredibly unlikely.
I think she just means that we're all primates, ultimately. And he's the greatest walking amongst us.
Just clumsy.
Agree.Really?
Not too sure about that.
Why would you expect them to?Agree.
Tex is still sadly remembered by many for his poor comment. Not on our board but the oppo fans won't let it slide away.
People make mistakes, people need to stop acting like the bloke is the worst racist of all timeWhy would you expect them to?
The only people that do are those doing it from their own position of self interest.People make mistakes, people need to stop acting like the bloke is the worst racist of all time
Show me someone who uses the word 'primate' in that context and I will show you a weirdo.
Agree.

Bit of an exaggeration of course, but i do think people hang him out to dry for a stupid comment. But are they really saying he's the worst racist of all time? Or could you perhaps be a little sensitive to criticism of him?

Yeah, those dirty Geelong supporters...Agree.

Observe the way English cricket fans treat Steve Smith. English keyboard warriors do it because if you had a choice between Smith and Joe Root you'd take Smith every day of the week, and they all know it. I see any "but, but, sandpaper!" comments as an admission of the same. They've run out of substantive things to say because they can't admit our cricketers are better. But brain dead oppo supporters love bringing stuff like that and power stances up. Their intelligence doesn’t allow them to remember anything else.
Give it time. There’s people here still smarting about selecting Kenny McGregor over Pav and the Dangerfield tradethis is all really old and irrelevant news now anyway
Isa's great and everyone's moved on

Heard this evening that it is rumoured Hugh Bond dislocated his shoulder at a music festival down south. A number of players in attendance.
If it is the case, not a smart move to be in a mosh pit.
Appears soWas this bullshit?
That would have been some festival!Anytime Kirky talks about music festivals you take the comment with a grain of salt. The last music festival he went to had Mozart headlining it.

Not at all. All i meant was that she was commentating on Australian tv. As we’ve had issues in the footy in the past (supporters calling players apes or monkeys, Eddy referring to Goodes as King Kong - both of which got a lot of media attention) i would have expected someone as professional as Isa to be a bit more sensitive to the topic? I am sure it wasn’t intended as a slur, however. I’m also not sure if it is used as a derogatory term in other countries. This bolded part makes it seem that it was somehow more of an issue due to it being said in Australia.
