It is a bit ridiculous that clubs can trade back when they have a highly rated prospect. The advantage for Brisbane is they can get a top three prospect for pick 18. As soon as you choose to trade back or out of a round, there should be restrictions applied on how/when you can match a bid.

So what annoys me most out of this is that Brady on one had says he can see some really good options for us if we split our first round pick yet on the other hand it sounds like we're sitting back waiting for other clubs to present our options to us rather than going out there chasing them.

That's why he was drafted. Missed a year through injury, couldn't crack in during a GF year. I don't think we look too deep as he has no real visible goal impact. I'll say to some degree the same on Charlie Clarke (pretty much a goal per game) but we all have our draft year favourites.

Sounds good in theory. I'm sure we would've discussed/offered it already with GC and they've probably said 6 is for Rioli and we're moving 13 to the highest bidder for future picks with 5 academy kids next year.

KANGAS HIT DANIEL ROADBLOCK​

NORTH Melbourne has held preliminary discussions with the Western Bulldogs around the potential of a Caleb Daniel trade, though the Kangas believe a move for the contracted defender remains unlikely.

Daniel is reluctant to officially request a trade to Arden Street unless a suitable agreement can be reached between the two clubs, but has interest in getting to North Melbourne by Wednesday night's deadline.

However, the Kangaroos have said their initial chats with Bulldogs officials "didn't get far" and reiterated their belief that Daniel – who is contracted through until 2026 – would be retained at the Whitten Oval.
