The justification that second round picks take longer to develop so they shouldn't be prioritized is just bullsh*t.

I didn't say they should not be prioritised. It's obviously horses for courses. Depends where your list is at, what are the pressing needs and who is available, both in the draft and at trade table. What I am saying that at some point there comes a time when winning become a priority. IMO we have reached that point. We have a huge amount of talent on the list but we also have blokes who have played in 1 or 2 wins in their entire career so far. It is time to bring forward some of the picks and to bring in some experience needed to win today. Not tomorrow, not the year after but today.

Unpopular call, but I actually reckon any pick between 25 and 45 have about the same odds of becoming a 100 game player.

Like check out drafts over the last 10 years. Bet ya there are a higher percentage of blokes picked between 30-45, that are better players then blokes picked between 25-30.
*dont look this up as I’m probably wrong.

To me, anything outside the first round is essentially a crap shoot. If we trade Daniel’s for pick 25, and Daniel’s never plays a game for us, I honestly don’t think it changes our clubs direction in anyway.

Our inability to land players later in the draft has been a major factor in us being bottom two for the last four years.

Its on the reaming end of the scale for what might be Pick 2 and another top 5 pick, but I can see the thought process around it in this draft if we were to secure Armstrong, Tauru and Hotton/Berry/Travaglia/Trainor as an example. It's not absolutely terrible. As long as we dont then go and blow those picks on Houston.

Edit, not with the additional R2 pick. As the above deal would secure the 4-5 inside the top 25 without it, which is what we need to fill in the list holes imo.
