I'd want a bit more than 39 games over 3 years for a start..How more Successful?
Sullivan averaged almost 6 tackles a game at VFL level last season.
That is a stunning stat. You didn’t dream it. I think the stat is that Checkers is the sixth highest goal scorer in the AFL since 2018. Or to be clearer, he’s no. 6 on the ladder of goals kicked since 2018.

You can see why the players insisted on a song circle with all the employees of CFC after the cup was won.not limited to just mental health....the whole psych area. No wonder, Jacqui Louder has been spoken about so much..
Talks in glowing terms here; It’s sad the AFL limits clubs to small psychological divisions. Players would be making much better choices off-field if supports (psychologists, etc) were increased.
Collingwood didn’t have many issues this year with De Goey, nothing really significant from anyone else bar one player. Not too sure what that player’s relationship with Jacqui was but he did make contradictory comments about not being able to be himself when she openly says they’ll accommodate all and the players agree.
There’s a cost with everything. Going for only the straight and narrow self motivated types limits the talent pool available.
My point was we were a serious team in spite of Ginnivan’s “cost”. We shouldn’t give up on talented players who don’t fit the exact robotic mould.
I am extremely happy we are looking at more mature agers though. But that should be at the expense of the Bianco’s not the Ginnivan’s.

just another thing that Wright and Fly have bought to the club.
The accidental forward, I love Checkers in a non physical kind of way, just saying! That is a stunning stat.
And it doesn’t even take into account the battering that he takes week after week, opening up opportunities for the crumbers.
l’ve liked him from day 1 because of the commitment he makes, and the sometimes unbelievable goals he kicks.
The part about one player not getting on with the club was Ginni and his weird interview when he was traded to the Hawks.Talks in glowing terms here;

Jordan De Goey opens up on ADHD diagnosis, public scrutiny in rare interview
‘Pisses me off’: De Goey opens up on ADHD diagnosis in rare interviewwww.foxsports.com.au
Pre-season training: Week 2. Wednesday December 6th.
Victoria Park. 9am.
Another session done for the week, with one more to go to finish off the first 2 weeks of pre-season (one week remaining until xmas break)
I heard they'll go on a community camp, I imagine sometime after next friday's session.
Lachie Sullivan' first session during his trial run. spotting in the black, wearing Shulz #8. He is solid built, not overally tall, around Adams height or so. But moves well, and seems to apply pressure. Good things you want as a mid. Small sample of course, so we'll see how he goes for the rest of the training days.
Players on track:
Lippa
IQ
Mitchell
JDaicos
Shultz
Noble
Pendles
Harry
DC
Kreuger
Allan
Frampton
Macrae
Jiath
Steene
Hill
Ryan
Crisp
Reef
Murphy
Richards
Moore
Beau
WHE
NDaicos
HH
Markov
Begg
Johnson
Mihocek
Dean
Carmichael
Train ons:
Sullivan (#8)
Eyre (#12)
Bytel (#33)
Sofonodis (#36 today)
Hustwaite
Teakle (#44)
* No Cox, and Jordy still. Cox would be back from the US by now, but they prob gives hin a couple days with jetlag. So maybe on Friday we'll see him him
And Jordy clearly still dealing with personal issue.
No Sidey and Howe, but those two includ pendles are free to come and go during december.
Maynard doing bike work and walking around with weights.
Jamie and DC did a few things around the goal line. Slowly building up their workload.
There was a bit of match play, but from general play or from D50, there was no structure really or centre bounce. Probably post xmas for that.
They also did some inside 50 work, tackling, handball drills, and some general skills drills basically.
Steene, Begg and Teakle did some ruck work with Fraser, the first real instance I've seen teakle actively engage with ruck work. There was a small time on monday, but more today. But otherwise, in match play, he was used up forward. Did take some marks though.
Oh. Lippa.
He is fine. Was not hampered by his ankle at all. Completed the whole session without session, so was very minor, nothing to worry about there.
Harry has a really nice kick on him, reads the ball well. I think he will settle in just fine. Adjusting to his role off half back pretty flawlessly.

May have been as simple as not being one of Kenny's faves. For example, he selected Dixon for important games later in the year (who is a known favourite of Hinckley's) when he was clearly not fit.If we were picking on looks and size Teakle should be a no brainer. What wasn't he doing at Port to be delisted after one year?
Don’t feel the same. We accept Oleg who doesn’t really fit the robotic mould. We accept Cox who’s a unique guy with an X account sure to cause a stir. We accept most of the blokes on our team. Collingwood is built on oddballs and it’s part of our history. There’s a cost with everything. Going for only the straight and narrow self motivated types limits the talent pool available.

Do you think Charlie could play forward?Charlie's looking really good from the footage I've seen on Jen2310 instagram stories from training.
I've got high hopes for Charlie & Reef too.
No clue. Would be a bonus if he could tho..Do you think Charlie could play forward?
I hope he does. I've asked Jen, but she said nothing stands out at training yet.. but also that it's a bit early to tell. How is Sofronidis going? Does he look like he will make it
I’m happy with the group of players we have and I’m happy to see the back of Ginnivan, but his issues are also being overplayed. He wouldn’t have played in a granny otherwise.Don’t feel the same. We accept Oleg who doesn’t really fit the robotic mould. We accept Cox who’s a unique guy with an X account sure to cause a stir. We accept most of the blokes on our team. Collingwood is built on oddballs and it’s part of our history.
We don’t know the full story on what happened and probably never will but at some point, Ginni crossed a line and we decided he just wasn’t worth the hassle. We’d have kept him otherwise.
The reason he slid in his draft year was, allegedly, discipline and attitude. That came out a bit at Collingwood and in the end, probably cost him his spot at the Pies. Sydney Stack slid for a reason, Schoenmaker did as well, the banned Knightmare name slid right down the order to go undrafted. Kids are delisted annually for it. Nothing to do with their lack of talent.
Sure, we may sometimes narrow the talent pool by discounting Ginnivans but we want people who will buy-in to us. Motivated guys tend to end up performing better than the blokes who take it for granted. We’ve moved beyond recruiting a kid for a flashy game; we want someone for the system.
If you find someone who buys-in to the system you can turn a life around. For example, Taylor Adams. Not the best bloke pre-draft and had a few issues in his early career. But he’s now a respectable person. And I think the club read the situation and organised a trade.
Bianco never gets enough praise for the way he modelled himself whilst at the Pies. A true professional. He played his heart out. It wasn’t to be but that’s not from a lack of effort.
I encourage the be yourself mantra. But know your limits for the sake of you, your teammates and the club. Nobody wants to be attending the funeral of a player who pushed it just a little too much and learnt the hard way.
Trent never had the physical weapons to play at the highest level given his size.I’m happy with the group of players we have and I’m happy to see the back of Ginnivan, but his issues are also being overplayed. He wouldn’t have played in a granny otherwise.
Have nothing against Bianco’s work ethic, he just wasn’t talented enough to pick. Better off going for mature agers you can similar to better talents who are are already more advanced.
The goal from the boundary off a step in the granny is a good example. That is a stunning stat.

I hope we keep him training until we get into some more match sim stuff. He strikes me as the type of guy who might not look the greatest athlete or trainer but that’s a footballer that shows more in match conditions

I mean, if Josh Eyre makes the list ahead of Sofronidis, I would assume it'll be because he's looked better in preseason.I hope he does. I've asked Jen, but she said nothing stands out at training yet.. but also that it's a bit early to tell.
