I understood the pickup given the state of our wings and the state of our players 18-22 each week. For a free hit he projected as a potential good enough bottom half role player.

The disappointment is after his dominant VFL finals last year and a full time AFL pre-season he hasn’t really improved.

I still think his clearest path to the AFL team is as a KPD post Liam Jones (probably Croft’s 3rd-4th year on the list) but if English left I’d very quickly develop him into that 3rd tall forward / backup ruck position given his movement and intensity at ground level.
