It's hard looking at those maps and seeing that the only Cumbrian team in the EFL is Barrow. :( :(

Hopefully it will only be for one season.

As a Wednesday fan I have a feeling we are going to have a very long old season.

We will be relegated by Xmas. That's if we have a club by then.
Every day I check in and it gets uglier and uglier for us. You know we’re in strife when even United and Leeds fans are supporting us on Reddit. Gonna be a team of Under 21s-18s getting belted every week.

Embarrassing.
Are they Eurosnobs gone downmarket, or just fans of a TV series?
The Age has an article on Wrexham and their appeal through the Disney series. One line from the article: "As the series has made clear, it’s about a club as the focal point of a town defined by struggle, resilience and community."
Doesn't that describe about 95% of the club's in the lower leagues?

Reynolds and McElhenney as owners, plus the TV show, has been a brilliant marketing exercise. I don't begrudge them their success. I was offered a ticket but declined. I never watched the show and these touring friendly games are usually disappointing. After half-time Victory fielded much of their youth team.

78,000 fans turned up at the MCG to watch Newcastle v Spurs. The subs started as early as 4 minutes and by the end you would barely know any of the players on the field.

At Stockport v Bolton.

Full house, great atmosphere. Good to have football back.

Looks like Burstow had a good debut for Bolton.

I was pleasantly surprised that my subscription to watch Oldham games worked. The process was clunky.

After struggling last season MK Dons have spent a lot of money and they are outright promotion favourites. But the game was quite even and we deserved a draw. The atmosphere was a little strange. 7 thousand home fans spread out in a 30 thousand stadium. 2 thousand Oldham fans making a lot of noise in one corner.

Not even going to bother with Sheffield Wednesday this year - besides Lord Bannan re-signing, there is just 0 positive for this season. Even just supporting the club right now feels gross knowing that Chansiri is a beneficiary of that support. My hopes for the year are on my second love, Barnet, to maintain their position in the EFL. Not the best start going down 2-0 but probably better than anything I'll see from the other lot
