Good to see Thredgold get a National invite, like his athleticism and size for a defensive position at AFL level. Interesting player, like him later in this draft.

Dahlitz & Fincher unlucky in my opinion, not getting a National invite. Surprised to see Luke Candy & Jack Cook not at least get State invites, they were very solid in the champs.

Dahlitz has a State invite, funnily enough he is one of the SA lads I like with a later pick good size good speed, takes the game on and a deadly kick. Jack Cook very very unlucky to not get at least a State Combine invite IMO, there are usually late invites especially to the State Combines so hopefully for Jack the recruiters get along to some of the WWT senior games and get a look at his bazooka boot.

An excellent game from Dyson, one of Central's best in a strong win. Starting him on ball at the first bounce seemed to give him the confidence to get rolling and he took that confidence with him when moved into the forward line, becoming a lot more assertive than we've seen from him at times at this level. His work rate around the ground was a feature along with his marking which remains an underrated weapon in his arsenal. He misplaced a couple of disposals but for the most part was constructive with the ball.

Finally someone other than myself can see what I've been raving about all season...

Going to have to pay up now if we want him and he's exactly the type of small forward we are screaming out for, been playing against the men in the strong Hampden Football League since he was 15.

Would you use our 2025 FRP on him?

26 disposals on Sunday against the Jets playing midfield 16 kicks, 10 handballs, 5 marks, 5 tackles, 5 i50's.

One tough little unit that has no trouble mixing it with the big boys in the midfield but it will be this same hard nosed attack that will see him succeed at AFL level as a small forward. Amost always in the Rebels bests playing midfield.

Hes had a few pretty good games this year.
More than a few too, though like his brother he's played mostly midfield and doesn't have a Combine invite at this point. Like his brother size will be his problem getting an AFL midfield gig.

Think I might be with you on this one Bicks.

Another gem out of the GWV Rebels following on from Kai Lohmann and Joel Freijah, unfortunately last year's gem Ollie Hannaford has had a wretched run with injuries, first a broken hand during his 1st preseason and then after only 3 VFL games a serious ankle injury that probably means he'll be lucky to get back playing this season.

Mitch Marsh continued with his change of roles in this one, playing mostly as a tall marking wingman with a few stints in the ruck and only a couple of rotations forward. It's an interesting move which suits his strengths and looks great when it works, but seems not to be entirely natural for Mitch yet who can get lost at times. With his status as a first round pick cemented due to his fantastic Champs campaign it's not a bad idea to experiment and show prospective clubs that he has some versatility to his game.

Byrne is a dynamic performer at Talent League level, able to produce match winning displays as a midfielder or a forward. He was predominantly in the midfield this game, his physicality at stoppage a standout both in his ability to win the hard ball and his intensity to apply defensive pressure with multiple efforts. The more Bryne plays the further he continues to move up draft boards.

You just have to love his tenacity, pound for pound no player in this draft goes harder...and his speed and that left boot ain't too bad either...

Jeffcrowe going to be some medium/small defenders shitting bricks when Talor is on their tail when they're trying to rebound it out of the danger zone.....

A bit of Georgiades about him or is the Mitch first name channeling me towards that comparison?

Think Sam Cummings will be the best player in the draft that’s not tied to a club. He would make us better instantly. Do you think we could trade our first and maybe a second, this year or next and get him?
He has all the skills to be a star and exactly what we need.

That’s if we don’t get NWM

IMO he’ll go top 10. Given our pick will probably be in the 20’s given academy bids, I doubt our first and a second will be good enough

Shame, he’s a gun
