Do we think Fincher might change a strategy at our first pick with Key forwards and defenders around that range?

My preference is MiniPou. Maybe Greece’s as a second option but he looks to lack a little intensity for a bloke of that stature in the midfield. Grjl and Cummings to a lesser degree.
Don’t think so

Reckon we look for another potential star with the 1st pick and try trade for one between that and Fincher. I'm all for 2Pou too..

Tom Blamires, 23

The former Sandringham Zebras right-footer has been a revelation in his first season at the Dollies, playing multiple roles: starting at half back, switching to the wing and settling in the midfield. He is averaging 24.3 disposals and helped Frankston to a top-four finish.

Jackson Voss, 24

The strong and long-kicking left-footer has played his way into contention for an AFL listing with his best season for the Dolphins, averaging 25 disposals at halfback and supplying a lot of his team’s offensive spring. The son of former AFL player Brett was overlooked as a St Kilda father-son prospect but he’s developed into an exceptional player and leader at Frankston, running third in last year’s best and fairest.

I spent the evening reassessing this year's draft crop. A lot will depend what we do trade wise.

Lachy Dovaston's VFL game for Box Hill against WB was outstanding for a small forward. He is quick, elusive, clean ball handler, a great tackler, good over head and generates plenty of shots on goals. He has a little bit of Milney about him.

If we don't trade for a small forward Dovaston would be top of the list for mine.

If he is gone then I would consider Jevan Phillipou and/or Talor Byrne. Both are small mids who are also natural forward.

The club is starting to get good at hiding talent

They clearly like Campigli so he's conveniently been "unavailable" for VFL the past 2-3 weeks yet has played elsewhere (APS Old Brighton I believe?)

Then Fincher who despite how bad Metro was, didn't play any midfield time. Then, as you say, didn't play last week and now we get one final look at him in the final VFL game of the season
No, the club is not hiding talent. Jonah Campigli is playing for Old Brighton in the VAFA so he can qualify for their finals campaign.

Fincher was playing school footy until last week, he’s in year 12 at BGS.

I hate the idea of high picks on small forwards but Doveston looks like the most complete player in the first round almost. I'm not in love with any of them this year. Nearly every player has a question mark over them Grlj looks nice but he could be Zac Jones. Phillipou looks good but he looks a long way off the guys in last year's first round.

I agree and I think in this case we take highest ceiling - which imo is MiniPou

Athletic profile is probably as good as any prospect to come through in recent years. Just needs to teach him the nuances of positioning/craft/decision-making etc but it could be very rewarding in the end

Cumming as a Heeney type wouldn't be too shabby either but he'll probably be gone by then

I have no idea on any of them in terms of whom is best.

But, I do know that we really need more players who can use the ball very well. Both in their decision making and in execution. We lack this compared to the best teams.

So, please Sir can we have some more Sincs, Halls or Nas's?
