Do you read the articles that you link?

Hyperbole to hype a match no one gives a shit about.

Had to omit the 4 players named ahead of him in that sentence! Normally someone fancied would be the first one named!

This article is not even about the Rising Star award!
Perhaps you've blocked last year out, fair enough tbh, but was often spoken about as a genuine Rising Star chance by commentators during the season.

And yes, the last article is about the best first year player award voted on by the AFL players association - They had Windsor only behind Reid and Darcy Wilson. Wherever you place the importance of that award, it's a fair drop from 3rd best first year player to dropped yeah? Anyway, I've said my piece.

I was really pro keeping Trac and Clarry. Also realistically not sure last year the teams Trac would have gone to had currency. I guess Carlton did? My guess is Trac would want to get to the pies. No way they have the currency to get him.
Can see his flipping Clarry for not much this year. Just got to sort out the $$.

Can see the Hawks being a player for either of those two. Especially if Worpel goes as a FA.

I think Tholstrup will be a player. He missed a couple of months with a stress reaction in his back... so what does the genius Goodwin do? He brings him immediately into the senior team instead of easing him back through Casey. What a ridiculous thing to do to a 2nd year player.

The kid has had no continuity after a long layoff, and all the VFL byes only make it worse.
I do hope you're right, Ray. There is definitely a bit (lot) of mismanagement in all that, not forgetting him being dropped to the VFL and having what can only be described as 'a sook' performance and getting elevated back into the AFL off the back of it.

The interrupted PS is massive, so I hope there is a bit in that. Really hope he can build up his tank and play more of that Nibbler type role we are missing.

Yeah exactly. Was a circus tbh. Could you imagine how embarrassed our recruiting staff were showing him around Junction Oval lol. All the while Judd knew he'd signed a massive deal with Carlton and Visy. Whole thing was laughable. Still can't help but feel that our lack of base and any sort of identity other than being the oldest club hurts us recruiting. I know i give Tim Lamb a hard time, and most of it is deserved IMO, but yeah, our club has never been an easy sell.
interestingly it was the Mcc who with a touch of spite, sent us to the junction oval, after Mfc went independent of the Mcc.
Barassi was harassing them to give us more room for a decent gymnasium etc.
They're response... to block us from the centre square for training at the Mcg.

Then finally they removed us from the Mcc and sent us to siberia. The interesting point NOW tho... is the MCG has drop in wickets.??????

Draft sets you up, but trading in key players is crucial. We don't win a flag without Oliver, Trac or Gawn as much as we don't win a flag without May, Lever or Brown. But yeah, particularly for the minnow clubs like us, Saints, Dogs etc, the draft is even more important because attracting good players is near on impossible.
and this... the importance of the academies, for the minnow clubs.

It's set up only for the interstaters. At this point.

Build a core through draft then wrap players around that core with top ups through trading.

We don’t even have a strong enough young core until we find some more young tall talent and maybe a zippy gun mid who can kick (and some forwards who can win a contest).

Once we have some of that, then we should look at top ups to complement and fill any remaining gaps.

Quickest way is to put anyone over 28 years old (and Sparrow) on the market and take what we can. None of those blokes will be a part of our next premiership and if anything are robbing our youth of experience.

Keep 3-4 of them for “leadership” but the rest can go.
We need a Zorko type from the draft.

Think people need to remember that Windsor was unaccountable as **** on the wing and quite often his opponent racked up the touches.

I suspect Goodwin is playing him down back to learn to be more defensively accountable

Maybe he should be put back on the wing to silence the chorus "He Is PlAyInG OuT oF PoSitIoN!!"

It should only take a quarter for everyone to realise that he is just in awful form this season. Not sure if he is carrying an injury, or if its just a combo of poor fitness and attitude.

He is capable of playing better but I don't think we will see that until 2026.

May was really good today, but has still (apparently) conceded more goals than any other defender in the comp this year.
May looked free'r in his movement to the ball and play, yesterday.

I for one don't think he's cooked. But I do think he has been carrying some kind of back related injury.

I still think he has two more years in him.

Windsor has been attending centre ball ups at Casey .
I don't know if it's going to work or not, but what i can tell you is Goodwin will say we're going to change things but when he gets recalled it will be the same old at centre bounce attendances

Nothing fundamental will change while Goodwin is the coach .

I wouldn't mind a Jackson type, Merrett type, Daicos type, Jezza type, Curnow type and Papley type (among others).
Not to go all micho but taking Weiderman over curnow and not rating papley even though he was under our noses is the type of thing that turns one flag into potentially an era.

So you want to trade our whole list out Dr.?

Imv, we are screaming out for a small halfback re-bounder, who has the vision to see to setting up forward plays through the corridor.
So our wingers mids and back flankers can join in the chain coming forward.
