I remember when Allen Jakovich couldnt get out of his car properly and would then strut out and kick a lazy 7.

Oh god I’m excited now…!
I recall a day he was a late out after injuring his back getting out of the car.
I also remember being at his last dees game. Against hawks. Kicked 8 and was doing back stretches on the goal square by the end of the game. Never played again.

Wes Walley: Kicked two goals including a difficult set shot from the boundary line, and was a constant leading presence for his side, while applying strong pressure, highlighted by his four tackles.

If we could just fill our list with names as good as Wes Walley and Roy George I'd be over the moon.

Two players I would like us to look into as Free agents... one I've already mentioned, Sam Draper. I think the ideal 2nd ruck/forward.

The other who has come up on trade discussions is Unrestricted Free Agent Jack Silvani. An ideal 3rd tall defender, or forward.
He is displaying his dads athletic prowess in recent games, and has an abundance of closing speed and superior agility.
He is another who can go to either end as suits the side at that time.

This would allow us to be free of needing Rivers constantly down back.
Silvani would give us the chop-out we need.

IMV we have struggled a bit after losing Hibberd to retirement. We miss his intensity, desperation and footy smarts.
And losing the athleticism of jSmith.

I think bringing Silvani in would be a strong win for us... And our team balance.

Looks like our forward 50 every time the ball enters. He will fit in great.

He looks like a very handy player.

I guess only chance we land him is if he knows Allan or someone else is coming to Brissy to take his minutes, even then you'd assume he'd still probably get game time as they're playing Sam Day up forward who is cooked.

There were very sketchy rumours Jamarra tried to get to the Lions in the last trade period. No idea if remotely true or if they would still be interested even if it was.

We're into Brisbane Lions forward Logan Morris according to Cal Twomey.

Fancy saying we don’t rate anyone outside the top 15 picks of the draft and then throwing away 2 x 2nd round picks only to turn around 2 years later to offer a bloke a couple mill when you could have originally picked him up for peanuts.

1. Lamb: “We don’t rate anyone outside first round”
2. Lamb: Trades 2nd rounder for Mcadam
3. Lamb: *Trades pick 14, 27 and 35 for pick 11
4. Club drafts Tholstrup at 13 (After academy), Brisbane takes Logan Morris at 31

2 years later

5. Dees look to secure Logan Morris on multi million dollar contract

You couldn’t make this shit up.

I actually agree with you here. Pick #31 meant he was available for anyone and the only way we get him is over paying again. Shows the club has no idea what our actual plan is around our list.

Legit I'm so worried about our KPPs long term. I reckon Petty is actually a good player but aside from that I don't trust anyone at AFL level over the long run.

Yep. This isn't a ' we should have got Morris with #31' he was so easy to find type thing. It's as much as Lindsay and Langford look good our list has so many wholes on it and so much rubbish on it that we probably could have just taken one of those guys available top 10 and then gathered even more picks to fire at some youngsters.

Feels like we're trying to be Geelong without the development and drafting ability.

They got De Koning, Henry, Stewart etc all with later picks which means they can spend their first rounder on mature most years.

I’m still interested in Jamara.

He’s getting cheaper by the day..
Interested in what. A bloke that would rather party than play? He's lucky he's even getting paid anymore.

Knew you'd love this news after saying we should have taken him instead of pissing away picks on Tholstrup.

I really am sick of the whole collect KPF's and hope one sticks approach, and im not sure throwing money at Morris is going to solve anything either. If anything it just shows we dont have the ability to attract the guys who could make a difference.

Seriously our random collection of state league plodder key forwards just feels like we're trying to lucky dip a Josh Treacy.

Morris is smaller than JvR, really only a worthwhile target if Fritsch is out the door for mine.

It's a fair point you raise in this case tbh.

To me though, the hypocrisy is in the McAdam trade, not the rest. I've said all along it has seemed the philosophy has been quality over quantity. The last thing our list needed was a ton more C grade depth players, so I think we've done the right thing in terms of the draft with going for the top end rather than take the more risky picks. Given Morris has turned out to be a bit of a surprise packet in terms of where he went in the draft then we're not really going outside that quality over quantity mantra.

Can you provide where Lamb said “We don’t rate anyone outside first round” given that's a quote? I don't recall him ever saying that but might have missed it. As mentioned above, I believe it's been more a strategy about only going for top end, less risk talent given our list wasn't in a spot where we could afford to be speculative.

The McAdam trade is where it has been a fail. We've gone low risk everywhere else but then used a decent pick on a player who has continued along the same trajectory from an injury perspective. I was excited to get him at the start, but maybe I was just rapt we were trying to get some x factor into our forward line. Turned out to be an absolute bust.

The part I think that's being missed though, is where does this put Fritsch in terms of our future? Twomey has said he's one to watch in the trade space, he's been dropped, and he's a pre-agent this year. Morris is a similar size and probably a similar role, but more of a competitor IMO.
