Any skerrick of truth in this then the conga line of list dick heads ought to clear out their desks
Really though ? Middling and inconsistent ( at this point of his career ) player getting their knickers in a twist over a contract and a supposed dinner with NWM ?

Even if there is some truth to it I don't reckon there is much to be done. You think you deserve more ? Let the market dictate it.

I feel the same way about it as I do about Harley Reid's demands. Get your shit in order then get your payday. Not the other way around.

Is Nas better than Butters right now? Yes

Will he continue to widen gap on Butters? Yes

How many more games will he play than Butters? X2 conservatively 150 vs 300

Will Nas still be elite at game 390? Most likely (see Shaun Burgoyne)

Injury history/ vulnerability? Favours Nas over Butters

Pure value in terms of loss compensation (not market worth) is

1. Butters +

2. Butters (or equivalent player given no twin) +

3. late first / early second (gap bw them for remainder of his career (300 games).

This does not account for other factors like financial losses to the club in membership, marketing, recruitment, attendance. His on field leadership is Jordan like, carries the torch for indigenous kids and players. Would likely be our next captain in combo with a good media performer (Wilkie). What’s that all worth to us?

Threat of PSD is a very real one given Silvagni’s history. How much are port willing to risk that path and not the best way to start life elsewhere. Pretty sure even Nas would be keen to avoid being dragged through all that. How much pressure is on us to grant him his wish given all our amazing work and understanding of indigenous culture? Pretty bad look for us to put him through draft. Would us threatening that be of any gain in ultimately retaining him? Possibly

What’s that knock off his real currency? Say the late first / early second for the gap in quality to whomever is part of the trade.

My assessment of his market worth is the equivalent of two Zac Butters. 300 games at his level. Not 19yo rookies, not draft picks, all of that is rubbish especially given this years draft.

Final market worth is ultimately what is paid though. To suggest butters is enough on pure loss comp, you have to be totally devoid of al brain cells

Joel Freijah and Bailey Dale for starters

Bailey Dale is 30 next year.

The only player that would make sense is Ed Richards.

You're forgetting that Butters is the equivalent of Goddard, Riewoldt and Lenny Hayes combined in one player to Port. And Butters will never leave, because he loves Kenny...o wait

Not sold on this doom attitude by this forum, can see the following all happening

Win the next 2 games, and probably go down to GWS in a nail biter

  • Nas re-signs, either 2 or 4 years at 1.5 - 1.7 mil
  • Windhager re-signs either 2 or 4 years 600k-750k
  • Phillipou re-signs 4 years at 800k-900k with heavy incentives incase he exploded in form

Trade period:

- TDK agrees to join St Kilda,
reported 1.7-1.9 is actually a front-loaded figure and real amount averages at 1.3 mil over the life of the deal(not incl. AFL ambassador money) meaning Nas is the highest paid saints player of all time (as was reliably reported)
- Leek Aleer gets to the Saints for Future 2nd with a Future 4th coming back our way

Draft:

  • Pick 6-7 used on a top midfielder
  • Draft 2-3 other Dalrymple diamond specials
My dream

Have to go off topic and would like to say

EAD ENGLAND YOU SOAPDODGERS
I really wanted to see Woakes face a ball 😂

How the hell could you face up with your arm in a sling. Super brave to get out there.

India got lucky. How dumb was it having mid on back off the last ball of the over when they needed 8 to win, bring the bloody field up there’s no way Woakes was going to be able to do anything if he got on strike.

My goodness, with only 30 runs to chase I didn't even tune in for the chance of a choke, but they've somehow done it.

EDIT: 27 runs, 4 wickets. HOW.
Woakes was out there with his arm in a sling.

Only tuned in with 11 runs to go with 1 wicket in hand because I got a msg from a mate.

Never mind the fielder who dropped the catch on the boundary line that went for 6.
What was he thinking not being right on the boundary in the first place?

If this eventuates I’d go straight to MQualter …confirm Eagles will take him in draft regardless of cash on his head cause they can afford to and tell Port and Ben Williams to shove that right up their arse.
Eagles asking for a help package….well there’s one dropping right in their laps!

What's funny about what many (not all) on the port board are saying is that nobody else agrees with them. The consensus in the media is Nas is worth a lot. Hutchy saying Butters wouldn't be enough is just one example.

No logic or intellect applied whatsoever to most of the drivel posted in their Nas thread.

The consensus is Nas is now one of the best, and therefore most valuable players in the comp. Nobody else is arguing that.
