Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

Free Agency Period: Friday, October 3rd - Friday, October 10th
Trade Period: Monday, October 6th - Wednesday, October 15th
AFL Draft: Wednesday, November 19th - Thursday, November 20th

People get emotionally attached and may disagree, but Flanders for Windhager is a net win. Far superior ball winner and user when utilised in the right role.

Windy is one of very very few true two way mids in the comp and to date hes easily our best one.

You need a complimentary midfield, Windy is a much bigger part of it than people thingk IMO

The Bowes deal include giving a high pick.

The Suns have 3 picks to land in the top two dozen, and need willall their points, and maybe more points to avoid a deficit.


However, the Suns are using two of those matched to gain two gun mids, and one decent mid. So Flanders will have even more competition for a Best 22 spot at the Suns if he stays in 2026.

I suppose if we say

Marshall, Steele and Heath go (im pretty desperate to keep windy)

TDK, Aleer, Flanders and Ryan come in and we manage to have a late first and some change to get Fincher.

Its overall a net win.

Yeah I think I do disagree, Flanders is 24, Windy is 22. Flanders will (probably) cost a first round pick, Windy is already here and a big part of the group coming through, a homegrown standard setter and leader. I just don't see that Flanders is that much better to justify the draft pick and disruption to our group.

And as has been mentioned by the great man, Flanders looks like a gay waiter at a pirate themed restaurant.

Hmm, I'm engaged in the discussion.

He hasn't yet really been able to play at centre bounce with a balance of winning the ball and stopping an opponent.

That’s a list that bats about 35 deep if fully healthy on any Thursday nights selection.

I still think we rely on King being healthy to be properly competitive but most teams have one guy they simply cant afford to lose to yeh, im good with it.

It’s being politically correct.

We can’t submit an offer until free agency opens. So they could match.

We have a good core of youth now and we won’t have to trade out our first rounder. And we also get fincher for **** all

Gold Coast have cooked Flanders value by playing him as a high half forward. His Centre Bounce attendances would be nowhere near what they were when he was flying.

interesting throwaway in Cal's phantom where he said the bid for Uwland is expected in the first couple of picks. to me that reads as though West Coast have indicated they plan to bid on him

adds an interesting dynamic if we try to turn Ryan and Flanders into a three way trade. an assurance from West Coast not to bid would save GC 740 points in itself (or the equivalent of pick 20). might allow us to get both quite cheaply

Uhhh that’s not true at all. Roma played every possible game in his preferred position and is a top 5 ruck in high demand. GC have moved Flanders to a different role, heavily impacted his output and used him as sub.

I guess the question for our armchair list specialists is, can we have both Flanders and Windy in the same team going forward?
