2025 List Management Discussion - Part 3

Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

Thanks to Lore once again for this incredibly useful spreadsheet.

2025 KEY DATES
Free Agency Period:
Friday, October 3rd - Friday, October 10th
Trade Period: Monday, October 6th - Wednesday, October 15th
AFL Draft: Wednesday, November 19th - Thursday, November 20th

Listening to Jamarra on a recent podcast and he speaks pretty candidly. To be honest he doesn’t sound at all how he’s been portrayed in the media.

With his talent and how self aware he sounds I would be absolutely shocked if he never plays a game again. He will be back, which club he’s at is the only question IMO
Talk is cheap,
I have had a personal experience with someone who has been in and out of jail several times and every time he gets out we catch up and talk, he tells me he has learnt his lesson bla bla bla and doesn't want to go back inside yet he ends up doing something stupid and gets locked up again.
He sounds so genuine when we talk but it's just that ,,, Talk

Yeah well O.J. Simpson also gave great interviews

Stanley will retire. They are all welcome in the Saints VFL team. Acres might be shaky.
As if Carlton will get rid of anyone, they are desperate to stop people leaving right now. But out of the remaining ex-Saints...

  • Battle
  • Long
  • Membrey
  • Stanley
  • Campbell
  • Gresham
  • Acres
  • Joyce (That Irish bloke that the Lions picked up)
  • Adams
  • Van Es
  • Billings
  • Paton
  • Coffield
(did I miss anyone?)

...he and Gresh are on the shakiest ground.

True but Gringo has been straight and narrow 6 months now this time it’s different!

We simply do not need the risk
No risk, no reward. We clearly have taken off the shackles and are backing ourselves in. Brad Hill spending time with Jamara may be part of our next big injection of talent, with possibly bringing in Jamarra.

James Van Es is long gone. Doesn't he play at Port Melbourne now?

No what i mean is that we as a club are building the proper way, and finally turning the corner. We have players nominating us and our best players seem happy. We are stable and the development is clear. We aren't desperate like we used to be, desperate like Melbourne, Essendon and Carlton currently are.

JUH is not a risk we need to take anymore, ditto Clayton Oliver or even Petracca. We will be fine.

The reward potential is reasonable but the risk if undoing our good work far outweighs it.

If Ross, Brad Hill, Nas and Cal Wilkie sign off on it, I'll support it but it seems reckless to do just to prove we can.

The one thing you learn very quickly when having anything to do with individuals with addiction issues, is they become expert liars and manipulators.

"Addiction also affects the brain's danger-sensing circuitry, making people feel stressed and anxious when they don't have access to the substance. These effects combine to completely shift a person's priorities, causing them to lie and manipulate in order to sustain their addiction and behaviours."

Im confident the club have moved past taking such risks, but they should go no where near JUH.

Finished off his schooling at scotch college in Melbournes leafy and prestigious inner east.

Don’t let some sugar coated crocodile tears wallpaper over what he’s been doing.

Don’t reckon Brad wants the Rory Lobb treatment personally

Brad is seen as an indigenous elder and leader, I reckon he is just trying to help a troubled brother get his life in order, football would be inconsequential at the moment.

Well you got your likes , happy ?
Interesting the bunch of clowns that thought your post was funny , have you ever tried helping someone that doesn't want to be helped , see how good you are then
Bunch of clowns? Really? As someone who has spent a significant portion of my life with a sibling who is an addict I feel eminently qualified to find a laugh over the situation wherever I can. She has orchestrated car thefts from family members, stolen irreplaceable items with highly significant sentimental value from family members, lied directly to their faces about it whilst living in their homes, turned up to children’s birthday parties drug affected and disappeared entirely off the face of the planet for 3 years! If you don't find a laugh amongst all that crap when you can, you'd lose your mind.
