2025 List Management Discussion - Part 4

Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

Thanks to Lore once again for this incredibly useful spreadsheet.

  • Geelong in for Curnow (Curnow stating they are his first preference)
  • Dan Gorringe linking SDK to Saints
  • Geelong table Pick 19 for Rowan Marshall (Saints decline)
  • Saints pull out of Aleer deal over somewhat minor difference between F2nd and F3rd
  • X account ‘inside source’ linking SDK to Saints
  • Saints have wrapped up all other trades

What do all these signs point to?

3-way mega trade

Geelong just have to offer up a suitable player to Carlton and that deal gets done. The three firsts alone won't be enough.

No way the Blues accept that trade. 2 x picks in the 20’s plus another pick closer to 30 (after the Tassie concessions). They’d be mad to accept this.
Curnow is a 29 year old (29 at the start of next year) injury prone forward. If he wants out and they are doing a mini-rebuild, might as well take the 3 first round picks and invest in youth. Maybe Geelong can throw in a young player like George Stevens, who knows. But Geelong is definitely gunning for a flag next year before Danger, Cameron, Stewart all retire.

Yes and also let's be honest here we have completely ****ed Aleer around. Is it the best thing for us? Yes probably but let's not act as if this is normal, we've completely screwed him over.
So what. We do what's best for the St Kilda football club. Nothing is concrete until the deal is signed, this is business 101.
