I would still take Ugle Hagan. Don't care.

We are boring and irrelevant. We have the cash, and will cost SFA in draft capital.

Get TDK and Ugle Hagan, take a top 5 pick to the draft, keep NAS.

At least we are a chance of being decent if all that happens.
Yeah I’m with the JUH group here. Everyone knows he has his challenges, so either we can help him/us succeed, or our efforts weren’t enough either and he’s totally lost to elite footy.

Take the punt. Not too many f***ups we haven’t seen at this point so what’s the worst that could happen lmao

Exactly roll the dice ffs. As long as we have appropriate get out clauses it is not even that big a risk.

Anyone know anything about this Adams fella?

A 198cm key back seems just the sort of player the Saints should’ve been recruiting. Let’s grab him 😎

Jack Steele has got to go, by any means necessary. Holding on to players for sentimental reasons set you back longer then otherwise necessary.

Sam Mitchell walked into the list management team meeting at the end 2022 and said if O'Mera and Tom Mitchell are still on the list at the end of the trade period you'll all be out of a job. That's the mind set that gives you the best chance.

He’s actually one who looked worth persisting with but the club was run by marshmallows who couldn’t develop people or talent.

And replace with whom? The Hawks comparison isn’t comparable, they had quality young midfielders coming through, we simply don’t. Our midfield group is average.

It’s how you find out who’s quality and who isn’t. Steele has been past it for a couple of years at least and Macrae can’t do it all by himself and he’s too old anyway. Put all of Owens, Garcia, Phillipou, Trav, Windhager, Boxshall, Wilson, anyone who isn’t over 30 and find out.

This is such a dumb argument lmao, Butters is and will be a star
Yet he struggles to produce it when it really counts ... in Finals

I love his energy and bustle but he would likely cost us more than NWM going back the other way .... and if NWM doesn't go back the other way then not sure where you are getting the multiple 1st round draft picks from to appease Port for losing their "star" mid .... which would also completely obliterate our draft hand going forward with Tassie about to come in and given compromised nature of the draft in general

So if you don't want to cough up a huge draft hand then we have to wait until Butters comes into free agency (restricted) at the end of next year .... although every chance in the meantime he signs back with Port or we risk have another middling year in 2026 and another team trumps us in FA or he knocks us back .... in the meantime we also miss out on TDK ..... and 2 yrs from now we still have 1.7m to spend .... which could still work in our favour if our younger guys really come on and start to produce

There hasnt been a lot of media on it but the MSD will be held next week 28th May. Im hoping the club look at putting Dow & possibly Cordy on the LTI and grab a player or two if possible. The MSD has been good to us since its inception so lets hope that can continue.

Why is it i know that talls take time, but apparently our list managers dont.

Perhaps it was his training application, but I thought Oscar was really stiff to get delisted. Particularly given how much we needed key defensive players. He's 21yo and still has some filling out to do, but has the frame for it.

Owens has had occasions where he's had more than 10 contested possessions, 12 against Freo. He can win clearances and has had good tackle counts at times. Definite potential.

Garcia not so much the contested possessions though its not bad, but his tackling and clearance work is good. Definite potential.

Phillipou hasn't had much exposed form in the midfield, but he had that game against Adelaide with 15 contested possessions and 9 tackles that screams, yes please, inside mid.

Windhager started the season with high contested possession counts, ( 14,12,11,10, 8, 10 ) then petered out, same thing happened last year.

Boxhall first game, 10 CP's 4 clearances and 6 tackles, all in 59% TOG. He needs time, but he's got great potential.

Wilson. He has had 10 CP's once, but i just don't see him as that inside ball winner. I still think he'll be a great player.

Trevaglia won a bit of contest ball in his first game against Richmond. I hope he can play inside, because he's sure as hell no Nas on the outside.

Clark is a bit older , but when he had a good run at it last year he played a game against the crows with 16 contested possessions, 8 clearances and 5 tackles.

Sorry I don’t buy it. We brought in Macrae to assist Steele and now we want to axe Steele? Our young list don’t have the experience, self belief, resilience, maturity to effectively deal with match outcome or situations. The pressure is put on, they fold, don’t follow game plans and intimidated by the opposition. The WC match proves it. Like with other matches or parts of this season. Without on field experience and leadership we’ll turn into the Roos.

Steele can barely assist Macrae, he’s not what he was 2-3 years ago and either way best case scenario with the two of them is wait for it……..this may shock you………..mid table. That’s best case which will be year 13 of just making up the numbers. If we actually embraced a rebuild when we should’ve we’d be out of it by now but in typical St Kilda fashion we’re going to time it for when Tassie comes in.

Got caught drink driving and fell asleep in team meetings. Wasn’t professional enough. I thought he was a good player
Well just shows how boring the meeting must have been , these are times to engage people , not bore them to death

To be fair to Paddy McCartin he has turned out to be a pretty decent public speaker and a leader in diabetes in his own right.

Could have been a leader for our club post playing career.

Not sure what happened with his exit from us, but he seems to have not a whole lot to do with our club now.
