And their 2026 1st becomes a lot less valuable with Curnow in their team. No, it's not...
I said 2025 1st + 2026 1st + Dattoli or Green.... NOT 2025 1st + Dattoli + Green...
As for why we'd do it, I already outlined that.
Are you saying the bulldogs should have recruited Ofarrel? Can't blame Kennedy for that lol... their back line sucks.

I think we won’t trade either Charlie or Harry. Rather upgrade the edges of the list and depth, so it’s probably a moot point anyway. But if we did, I would definitely ask for someone like Gulden in return. If Swans say no, we don’t lose anything by keeping Charlie and Harry together.
Because the whole team was poor. If a Sydney team with no elite KPF can make a Grand Final imagine what they could do with CurnowFunny, he was in our team this year... didn't do much to devalue our TDK compo pick did he?
Regardless, if it's pick 10 or pick 16, it'll help us match the Cody bid.
Did you really just say it bodes well if we finish last? And two mid firsts and an unproven kid for Charlie should be laughed out the doorI'm really hoping the clean out starts...
Sydney looked hopeless without a key forward... Charlie or Harry would make a world of difference for them, they have mids that can actually hit a target...
All these delusional hypothetical trades involving us getting Gulden or Warner for Charlie... not gonna happen. But the return for one of our key forwards will still be invaluable.
2025 1st + 2026 1st + Dattoli or Green ... we get a promising kid who fills a hole in our list (Dattoli fwd or Green ruck) plus we get a decent pick this year and a very valuable pick for next year's draft.
TDK and JSOS looks like it'll be revealed that they are gone very soon...
With HOF going down, Pitto as main ruck and compromised kpd stocks to add to our inept small forwards and midfield as well as our declining senior players, we really need to focus on rebuilding big time for next year's draft...
Walsh made a big statement that he wants to stay and more importantly WIN with this club. So I can no longer advocate to flick him off as a FA next year.
This still bodes well, we finish last, get pick 1 and then use the Swans 1st from the Charlie/Harry trade to match the bid for Cody.
I'd also look at offering our 2027 1st for another first next year... should really stack our hand for next year's draft. Tigers did it last year and it's looking good for them already...

Pick 40 would help pay for Cody - doesn't mean we should be devaluing our own assets. And "looks to be in decline" because of one poor year?Or, they might become too Curnow focused? Also, Curnow who looks to be in decline... might not be the player we all think he is anymore...
Horse isn't the coach anymore either... Cox hasn't proven anything yet.
Again, even if it ends up being pick 18, it will still help pay for Cody...
We had our shot & f* it up but the pick number isn’t the sole effect, it’s the drafting eye to make the most of pick/s you have for AFL footballers.Where are we getting the picks to draft like that? Did we plant a draft pick tree at Ikon park?

Cripps was finished 4 years ago and has won 2 brownlows since then, Charlie’s had one bad year in a poorly performed side after almost 3 seasons of leading the Coleman. You don’t trade a superstar to help get points for a f/s, a first in a poor draft and a kid who’s proven nothingOr, they might become too Curnow focused? Same draft / trade.
BL #1, 15, 17, 55
CFC# 3, 10, 30, 70, 78
Dow, LOB, TDK, Schumacher, Ja.Garlett +
Lobbe, MK, Lang
5 players still on the list for BL’s and we’ll have zero remaining shortly (TDK to become ???, MK = HOF)

Of course we'd ask for Gulden, but he won't want to leave anyway. If Charlie is adamant about leaving, keeping him isn't really tenable... especially after all this talk about getting rid of people that don't want to be here...
But we need to give something to get something... no one is going to just hand us first round picks. Who else do you suggest we trade to "upgrade the edges"?
Charlie’s contracted until 2029, we don’t have to deal with anyone if we aren’t happy with what’s on offer. Unless its something ridiculous he doesn’t go anywhereCripps was 26 four years ago...
Charlie is 29 start of next year and already won 2 Coleman's...
If the Swans weren't the destination club, if it were the Eagles, we could get far more value... but it is what it is, we have to deal with Sydney if a trade is to take place and we can't magically get a top 5 pick...
There's also the possibility they could slide next year anyway... no one thought we'd be 11th this year...

Why would we trade a contracted key forward like Hary or Charlie if we don't get something "delusional" in return!I'm really hoping the clean out starts...

Perhaps you are correct.Thats irrelevant. If the list manager hasn't invested the appropriate currency into fixing an issue thats plagued us for years and years now then they're not doing their job right.
Look at how much a club like Brisbane or Adelaide have invested in their small + mid sized forwards and then look at ours. It's any wonder they've got the best forward lines in the comp.
We haven’t had a generational fwd since Sticks.View attachment 2406718
No--no, Not so fast, Lois.
A generational forward's a generational forward. But the father son pick could be anything. It could even be a generational forward! You know how much we've wanted one of those.
Then let's just--We'll take the father son pick.
Especially when one is a generational talent that we can build the entire forward line around, and is still just 24yo.I wouldn't trade any of our big 6 (Harry, Charlie, Evans, Cripps, Walsh, and Weitering)
Sydney's 1st pick is not attractive in a draft that lacks quality depth.I'm really hoping the clean out starts...

I agree...been saying this for a couple years but all the experts on here disagree...we need backline players who can hit a target. Its a balance given cripps and hewett's age, but I agree it feels like in the short term we end up with one too many midfielders
