Apologies for any inconvenience. We will try to find a replacement.
This reads to me as a VFL and train-on opportunity, and it's normal that we hear about a few of these this time of year.Thank you for proving my point. So when they were actually decent:
-First year plays 2 games.
-Second year as a 20 year old in a good team still, averages are goal a game and 2 tackles a game.
-Third year plays 6 games - major hamstring tear throughout the year.
-Fourth year - 17 games, 16 goals.
From then on out WC dont win more than 2 games a season.
He's shown plenty more than most small forwards on our list. Instant upgrade on White, Durdin, Fogarty.
Also becomes just about the fastest player on our list which the club has noted as a priority.
He's shown plenty, you just weren't watching.
It comes down to price and opportunity, because he's competing with Moir, Kemp, McKay, and Curnow for a spot.Club needs to go hard at bringing in Gruzewski (although currently contracted for 2026). There is going to be a forward 50 at the Blues with his name all over it.
A Vic boy we definitely should be going after
We tried that.I'd like to see him train on as a KPD
Moir isn't a good link player? What?Kemp Moir and Khamis are all more 3rd tall types, and aside from Williams at times none of the others have consistently provided a good link between the midfield and forward line. Unless the situation is truly untenable I’m really hoping we keep him
One was already on the way out, other was brought in to replace him, no surprise why one was favoured over the other. If Owies is getting games ahead of him at WCE, we've got some real issues....
Always Dram to me you big softie.Nah, that's actually being polite. Being aggressive usually gets me banned.
Oh, and it's Dramoth to you.
My concern is if he doesn't get injured ...One was already on the way out, other was brought in to replace him, no surprise why one was favoured over the other.
I'm not too fazed. My only concern would be his availability, if he starts getting injured again or if his past injuries have mean he's lost a step. Free hit anyway, similar to the Orazio pickup, its a punt.

not bad B grade depth...he can be hbf or hff plus mid time....possible slight upgrade on E.Hollands thenSam Flanders being linked to us
Big yes!
If we're trialling anyone, I'd be hoping it'd be Eddie Ford. One was already on the way out, other was brought in to replace him, no surprise why one was favoured over the other.

Why are folks thinking Gold Coast would even entertain the thought of swapping King for Charlie..?
It's not like King isn't performing rather nicely. Ok .. I was an early critic ... but ... umm
Khamis is good experienced depth at either end of the ground for us. He'd slot into the flank positions either forward or back and would fill a hole if we have to send someone to the reserves to work on something down back.I am somewhere between we are a complete basket case and its snowballing, then to not sure if we are just in the news because its the week off and SEN need to fill airtime.
Delisting's - All made complete sense
TDK - an offer we cant match
JSOS - Spoilt brat, but a meh player that wont break us
Elijah - Prob the one that hurts the most knowing how much he could do for us if he stayed off the gear, strongly doubt any club will trade for him or take him off our hands.. We will either red shirt him or could be the final kick up the @ss he needs.
Charlie - What more is he supposed to say than I am playing at Carlton in 2026.
Prob more concerning is the lack of noise about potential players coming in, and Baku Khamis does not excite me.
Pace aside, Fantasia was and is a completely different level of quality to Petruccelle. One was already on the way out, other was brought in to replace him, no surprise why one was favoured over the other.

Would rather the young bloke the replaced him with Cooper TrembathIf we're trialling anyone, I'd be hoping it'd be Eddie Ford.
Reckon this guy's got some genuine ability AND has a bit of mongrel. A number of Norf fans not happy they let him go.
he did smash that knee so might retire earlier tooI think its only a matter of time before GC are on the phone about Curnow given recent events. I think they will be keener to deal than Sydney and if anything else could drive up what we get for Curnow. I'd take Flanders and King. Don't see why we wouldn't be asking for anything else. He's not going to Sydney for for nothing. We would want one of their top 5 players, after all, its up to the destination club to make it happen.
Yeh agreed at his best, much better player. Got similar tools though and I reckon in a better environment and a clean run at it, can 100% add more value than a few of our current options. Lots of ifs though i know.Pace aside, Fantasia was and is a completely different level of quality to Petruccelle.
Take out his own scores, moir averages 1.3 score involvements a game, and we often played him as one of the deepest forwards, not to mention his tank was a major reason for him not getting game time earlier on. Compare that to lij who averaged 4.2 score involvements not including his own scores last year. He may end up being able to play that role in time but right now it’s not where he’s best suited at afl level. I’m a big kemp fan and would love to see him spend time in the middle but kicking is not his strength, and we need good kicks going inside 50This reads to me as a VFL and train-on opportunity, and it's normal that we hear about a few of these this time of year.
He's not worth more at this stage.

Good forward craft, works against and off body contact well, but doesn't really deliver to his fellow forwards well. Short FF with a bit of pluck but not stellar pace.
McGovern still in the mix for us as well and may be more cost effective and impactful in our forward and defensive mix.
We tried that.
Moir isn't a good link player? What?
Kemp had plenty of drive from half-back, but didn't really get a chance to get expansive in his forward role early in the season.
I think the club will invest in giving him stoppage looks in 2026.
I would be trialling the guy and if he didn't come up to scratch straight away, sign him to our VFL club and if we have a slot open in the middle of the year, if he's improved, grab him as a MSD rookie. We trialed both Phillips and DGB last preseason, and signed them both to the VFL club. Both has shown something during the VFL season and I reckon we grab both as DFA rookies this year.If we're trialling anyone, I'd be hoping it'd be Eddie Ford.
Reckon this guy's got some genuine ability AND has a bit of mongrel. A number of Norf fans not happy they let him go.
Can he play wing?
Does he have pace?
Moir has proven he can start to build up his tank this preseason, and he won't coast into space like Eli: he'll make it. Both are prodigious with the ball in hand.Take out his own scores, moir averages 1.3 score involvements a game, and we often played him as one of the deepest forwards, not to mention his tank was a major reason for him not getting game time earlier on. Sure solid player, is prob a slight downgrade on JSOS and with HOF out for the year it makes sense.. however this signing is hardly moving the needle for a team that has finished 11th and has lost key players. I just hope GW has something bubbling away in the background that has been kept quiet.Khamis is good experienced depth at either end of the ground for us. Khamis is a third tall. I'm hoping that the club has already got deals in place with Ethan Phillips and DGB as DFA picks. Ethan had a good season in the VFL and looks like a good pick up and DGB was trialed down forward for the latter part of the year. Both of them would be good pickups I reckon.Sure solid player, is prob a slight downgrade on JSOS and with HOF out for the year it makes sense.. however this signing is hardly moving the needle for a team that has finished 11th and has lost key players. Top 6 B&F in our teamnot bad B grade depth...he can be hbf or hff plus mid time....possible slight upgrade on E.Hollands then
Yes lock it in......can we?
This guy is reliable with ball, and yes he does work consistently ....not a speed machine tho...just normal
I agree with Phillips, not sure about DGB, hasnt put together the body of work.Khamis is a third tall. DGB is no good, i would be very concerned if we offered him a contract. Our VFL team finished 13th I would be hoping we are looking elsewhere when looking to plug holes. Hogg may be the only exception as he showed a bit late in the year.Khamis is a third tall. I'm hoping that the club has already got deals in place with Ethan Phillips and DGB as DFA picks. Watched him play some decent footy. Those mutton chops are awesome as well, our modern day Rhino. If we're trialling anyone, I'd be hoping it'd be Eddie Ford.
