Apologies for any inconvenience. We will try to find a replacement.
We got rid of a Fantasia and Durdin. Heaps?
Williams, Motlop, Ainsworth, Fog, White (maybe), Hayward, Evans, Cottrell, Moir... now Byrne?
That's without counting the Lord, Jagga, Cerra types who will spend time on a fwd flank.
Just feels like we were so focused on small forwards we didn't really do much research on the taller guys.
Having said that Byrne looks like an awesome kick so that is the #1 box ticked for me.
Been saying for years that a clean out of small forwards is coming, half done this year and the other half will be done at the end of next season.
List will be balanced then and finally we should have some forwards who can play.
Like all the mentioned traits. Could not guarantee he will be a forward or pure forward. Looks very at home in the middle of the ground and we badly lack an onballer with his traits.
I think we have a good one here, not sure where he will play, perhaps a bit of both and that is very appealing.
I am tied between having those picks available to us next season or as you said, taking a player with talent this season. Why I would have paid Fogarty out. Great kid and a goer but not a genuine small forward. In a reset I would have preferred a Wally or similar on our list. 2 spots for SSPs would have been ideal

I would have liked Riley to take one of those SSP spots which would allow HOK to be used as the tall we are lacking up forward or down backWhy I would have paid Fogarty out. Yep, just basic observation HOK/Skull added a huge amount of bulk last off season, but has not continued that trend. Showed promise as a forward as well as perhaps a recognition of his soft tissue episodes to be conscious if not adding too much bulk.He is definitely being looked at. I can see him being picked up mid year
HOK will play forward in 2026.
Providing a contest and kicking 20-30 goals. Doing the relief ruck work so Harry can be 100% forward.Imo all we need around Mackay is another tall foil to make the opposition key defenders accountable.
Hok just needs to compete, obviously kick goals where he can and most of all bring it to ground for our now elusive forward line to get to work.
From watching him play in all reserves games last year, i think he is still a some way off being given a rookie spotā¦I would have liked Riley to take one of those SSP spots which would allow HOK to be used as the tall we are lacking up forward or down back
Yeah I think this selection is being driven by the media teamI mean get the guy on the list for the puns
His parents must be a hoot.Wes walley is a nice size at 184cm isnt he.
Doubt Kemp plays before the bye.
No knowledge, just a gut feeling.
Maybe, but I watched him in nearly all the reserves games last year, too. In my opinion, he is miles ahead of Mircov ever was and we may lose him if we wait until mid season. From watching him play in all reserves games last year, i think he is still a some way off being given a rookie spotā¦
I like his athleticism and general tap work but he is still very raw, a little infront of Mirkov when delistedā¦
Hope he really comes on this year, would then be worthy of a rookie spotā¦
My 2cents worth..
He is already worthy of a rookie spot. Clubs including us are just tight for spots these days. Doesnāt pay to spend multiple years developing a young ruck only to miss out when he matures enough to be a factor at top level. From watching him play in all reserves games last year, i think he is still a some way off being given a rookie spotā¦

Iāve heard he goes missing in games.Wes Walley definitely going to be elusive up fwd. #whatwerehisparentsthinking.

I can't find himSEN reporting Wes Walley is one of the train on spots for us.
From Rookie Me Central:I found his best work was done close to goal through the year. Didn't have the work rate and accumulation needed to be that high half forward/playmaker at the next level. Don't think he would have averaged over 10 touches a game going off memory at the start of the year.
Really hope we give him a spot on our list!
