Feels a bit long to extend for me. No evidence he's not a one season wonder, plus we have depth coming through

Also means we are backing the tall forward approach which is yet to be proven in finals
Don't agree - training standards go a long way to predicting success and Voss has become a leader with JT in setting the standard at training. His form is the result of extreme hard work; he's earned this.

He also had interest from other sides that we would have needed to at least be competitive with, both financially and length wise or leveraging one with the other. Plus being a free agent for life each time he comes out of contract means we aren't dealing with that again in 2 years time. I think its a fantastic outcome for both the club and the Pony.

In all likelihood the free agency status meant we had to be aggressive for his signature. With that in mind, 4 years is pretty good to me.

Depends on what you mean by "yet to be proven in finals". Do key fwds get big hauls of goals? Generally no. But 2020 Richmond are the last premiership team to not play either 1 ruck + 3 key fwds or 2 rucks + 2 key fwds in a Grand Final. That was our structure until mid-last season. And I suspect with the 5 on the bench + Jackson more midfield reps our structure will once again end up looking fairly normal.

The idea that there are these premiership teams playing 1 ruck + 2 key fwds or even smaller is one of the great myths.

An extra key forward of real quality and we win the 2013 GF, Lake had a field day with Clarke down there.

Imagine Voss in that side, no way he lets Lake mark everything in sight, as good as he was.
Voss would've had Lake so wound up haha

Any of Voss, Treacy, Jackson in that side and we win 2013, 2014 and 2015 flags instead of Hawthorn. Hawks entire game was losing a clearance and intercepting the mark at half back.

And an 8 meter kick marking game..
