The best thing for Collingwood would be Hawthorn landing both Reid and Oscar.

They surely wouldn't have the cap for Butters.

Pies vs Cats again for Butters surely we are due.
What picks do Hawks have? I wouldn't care if they handed any of those over to Eagles for Allen either. He looks cooked.

Not so keen on them getting Harley tho.

Get worried when I hear we are offering Maynard:
  • "excellent" money
  • A more lucrative deal than North

April Fools?
I’d imagine that part of the article was a mistake (meant to say the Roos deal was more lucrative than the pies deal) that nobody picked up on given that proof readers seem to be a thing of the past in the media.

Yeah, they can give at least one of those to Eagles for a cooked Allen.
Why would they do that when the Eagles will get a better compo pick if he walks as a free agent?

allen is a RFA
Yeah, I forgot. So they'd get a compensation pick.

Yes I forgot he was a RFA.

I got carried away wanting Hawks to give away one of their high picks (they got from Blues) for Allen 🥴

We will certainly have the cap space with the pending retirements of players in the coming 12-24 months.

Hopefully the Houston connection pulls some weight if Butters wants out

What picks did we have and landed the best HB in the game.

Take it with a massive grain of salt being Sam McClure but on Footy Classified just now it’s reported that we’re one of four Vic clubs in the running for Butters along with Dons, Hawks, Tigs
Hard No on Butters - his body is shot.
It’s like Hannebury to Saints all over again.

how i see the ooc players status at current time (things can and will change this is just on current form)
delist: Dean (not up to it) , Macrae (try and trade if possible) , Sullivan , Leggy (awesome clubman and forever a premiership pie would love if they said he retired instead at end of year to save face)
re-sign: Elliott ( almost guaranteed to get one more year already should he not get a huge injury or choose to retire been in some real vintage form so far just needed to kick straighter on Friday and was dudded by snicko against Port can certainly squeeze a good 12-18 months out of Billy at 32 hell i'd sign him on for 2027 too for one last ride ) , Sidebottom (one more year turning back the clock this year been great) , Mihocek (2 more years whatever he's done to fix the hammies has worked looking fit and firing) , WHE (he will come back in the side and could be handy depth sign on for 1 year deals this point on could see him hanging around for a bit) , Norm Hill (2-3 year contract for the time being)
potentially retire: Howe (so far so good but with his injury history and approaching 35 watch this space probably his last year but if form and fitness allows would love him to get 1 more year) , Pendles (if he turns in more performances like the Bulldogs game he probably gets another year if not send off at end of year) , Mitchell (probably will retire) , Cox (most likely his last year but not terrible depth at all if he gets a send off season in 2026 can't teach height and was not terrible on friday
delist+re-rookie: Frampton , Johnson (show of goodwill after the leg injury)
already re-signed: Long (okily dokily for Ned to get 2 more years shown great signs of becoming a defensive mid ) , Reef (could be anything once he returns from his ACL) , TJ (looks exciting potential Howe successor)

He didn't miss a game in the previous two years and was a star. What are you talking about?

That nerve issue he had a few years ago was pretty bad almost career ending. He is slight and cops a heap of punishment in every game, the cumulative effect of both makes it a no from me.

That injury was just one of those things and wasn't about his size. His leg got trapped and bore the weight of a tackler that bent it at a damaging angle.

You may have just written the best post on BF ever but I’ll never know bc the formatting made my eyes bleed by the end of the second line

So it's a big NO to Butters but a big yes to Fin Mccrae. You might have the two confused

Dumb campaigner
IMO as much as I would love him at the club, I don't blame him for staying, Treloar and Libba will retire during that time and he'll become Bont's second in command and be locked in a role, and he could be the No 1 by the end of that contract anyway with Bont being 34-35 by the end of that deal and Ed hitting his prime

That's Rowell, LDU & Richards out as all look set to stay. Allen looks Hawks-bound.

I'm afraid the best we can do is Dev Robertson or try to poach Mitch Lewis and James Worpel.
