Rather look at Trembath for a year.

Jye’s drop off has been large and he’s another Larkey type than a big contested key forward.
The fact that there are currently four different spellings of Jai in this league is horrific

Butts helps out i think. We can play him as the 1:1 defender with a hope his contract looks bad by the time W Dawson can play the role. Butts and Chom with either Logue, Corr or Pink as the 3 looks improved to me.

Question if we did draft him does that lock Matlock as a forward? A forward line of Larkey, Matlock and Trembath could actually work.

If we don’t get Windhager make a move up the first round and aim for a Farrow and hope he does what Frejiah did in year 2.

A crumber with low speed and poor goal sense… and we aren’t linked?

What is this, opposite land?

Persist with Trembath absolutely, but if it’s possible to bring in Amiss then I think it’s something we just have to try. He’s 22 and kicked over 30 is the last 3 seasons.
Would cost a F1 and I feel like he hasn't performed at a level worth trading a top 7 pick for that we'll likely have next year.
He's pretty similar to Larkey and not a big contested marker like a Treacy type, that we probably need to complement Trembath and Larkey. I reckon Ah-Mu or Cody Curtin in the draft could be that big body type.

Where has the talk on Amiss come from?
Other than David King saying Freo should consider trading Amiss to get another line breaking mid there hasn’t been any genuine talk of them moving him on.
This poster floated it back in July, apparently Kingy spoke about it recently.

Did anyone hear who Tom Morris was talking about this morning on his news bulletin on SEN, it was a player in the VAFA, who needed a couple shoulder operations but Saints have essentially told him, he will be picked up by them, in one of the formats, ie SSP ect - my phone cut out just as they mentioned his name.

Amiss is about to start a new four-year contract, I can't see him leaving Freo.

And frankly if I was playing in a side that was percentage away from top four and then lost a final by a point, leaving that to go to the team that just finished 16th would be a hell of a choice.

Fair play to them, saints are throwing it all out there.

In landing TDK they're the first small club I recall landing a quality FA right at the start of their FA window.

Both saints and us have crashed and burned with these chases in the past, I'm intrigued how they're turning heads.

A quick stocktake.

Started with 46 players. Delisted Bergman, Teakle, Ford and K Dawson. So we're down to 42.

42 is the maximum list size you can have across the primary and cat a rookie lists.

But as far as we know, we're not losing the two extra rookie spots this year, meaning we can have 44.

42 on the books. But we gotta have 3 mandatory draft recruits. So at least one more player will have to be delisted or traded.

Meanwhile, the following are still OOC: Harvey, Payne, Tucker, Maley, Banch, Phillips and CCJ.

Multiple reports suggest CCJ's contract is a done deal, so let's assume he is staying.

At least one of the other six has to be gone for the mandatory 3 draft spots.

You're left with five players you can try to upgrade with those realistically available. What would it look like?

Banch? I'd keep him, unless something ridiculously unforeseen happened.

Tucker's spot can go to Windhager.

Controversial I know, but I'd have little problem giving Payne's to Spargo.

Harvey's spot could go to Butts or Tylar Young.

Leaves Maley and Phillips.

As a DFA, how would we feel giving up Maley for Harry Lemmey?

And then Phillips' spot goes to the third draftee.

Or maybe we delist Maley, and keep Phillips.

Or maybe Fisher leaves of his own volition, meaning a spot's freed up.

Yeah I dunno. Hard to see much more than a few incremental list improvements at this point.
Maley can go. Seen enough.
