In 2020 we delisted 12-14 players - now 5 years later and we probably should do the same thing.
So many on the list that just aren’t up to it - keeping the same players and expecting a different outcome.

I know we have got the picks to do that but I hazard to guess getting 6 of the best state league players would be better.

It needs to be staggered across a few years, cut 5-8 each year, depending on what you can bring in via trade/FA.
I get it, some of the players really shouldn't be on the list in a few years, but with only 4 ND picks (20, 21, 38, 56) and limited replacements likely to come in via trade/FA, we need to keep some depth around so the young and/or state league players can just develop at VFL level for a few years, learn the roles and system before they come in at AFL level.

And I wouldn't cut deep and taking more than 4 kids in a potentially ordinary and not so deep draft.
Draft 3-4 kids and/or state league players and get in 2-3 trade/FA acquisitions if possible.
But the group could use a few better state league players who are desperate to play AFL.

Yeah we'd have more chance of making a $100m profit than attaining him.


He was good last year, I would have agreed, but now teams are putting the slightest amount of work into him, he doesn't look nearly as good. Come to us and multiply that by 2-3. We'd make him into a long kicking, slightly better Tucker. It'd be a worse Trade as it would cost us a fortune in both salary and picks.

Turned out pretty well for the Hawks, but many thought they overpaid with 27, F2 (25) and F3 (46).
Shame we weren't allowed to pick swaps our 2023 assistance picks, may have been able to get pick 18 off Swans.

Fun fact the F2 the Hawks traded we got with Dyl Stephens and on-traded to Blues as part of Fisher deal.
F3 Hawks traded ended up going to Dees for Grundy.
