Just have a feeling we'll hold onto Payne and Trembath.

I hope we do hold onto Cooper and Teakle though. Harvey has made the most of his chances, except the last game but given he was scoring at a good rate and leading the line prior to illness...the signs are there. And with CCJ potentially going, I think keeping Teakle would be a good move.

Hopefully we can move on some who aren't out of contract like Fisher, Scott
Teakle has shown zero as a forward or a ruck, why keep him?

He’s been repeatedly flogged in the ruck and he barely competes forward of the ball.

he can clunk

has been more than serviceable last year and the 3 games this year

he is good ready made depth that should hopefully this week get to play forward more with X coming back

Trembath is viewed as a long term investment.
Ok, but he's only on a six month contract at the moment.

Surely there's an abacus at play in such circumstances, where someone can be viewed as a long term investment so long as a much better player doesn't become available in the trade season.

His opponent has been best on ground
His one mark a game won’t save him

True, but his age, talent and form to date is quite favourable. Club sees him as a forward.

The old Dan Gorringe style player.

Plenty of better state league options.
I think the calculation regarding ruck stocks will hinge on the assessment of Goad.

At the current rate of progress, with another pre-season, you'd be hoping Goad would be ready to debut next year, in which case the pecking order might be Xerri, Goad and one other as a 'break glass in case of emergency'.

IMO that third spot is line-ball as to whether it would be CCJ or Teakle or start again.

If we have three spots available, the three plausible targets I'm going for are Harry Lemmey, Judd McVee and Alex Davies.

Lemmey would be a good KPF option in his own right, but would also provide Xerri insurance.

McVee's name could be replaced with Starcevich but that's getting beyond my sense of what's plausible.

Budarick would be back in the land of believability.

Has some attributes, but also something of a tweener. Also under contract for 2026, so you'd be paying in draft capital.

For me, probably a no.
Would genuinely be very concerned as to what we’d give up were we to trade with the Dogs.
