FFS, quantity doesn't beat quality, it just clogs up the list. If we need a small forward, spend up and get a good one. This is like two years ago when we suddenly realised we didn't have any talls so stocked up on a bunch of crappy ones.

I kind of feel sorry for Spargo (although I’m not keen on a trade). Pretty shit thing to happen.

I’ve mentioned on here before that I’m a fan of Oliver Sestan (dees rookie list player). Started as a forward but been playing back this year. Very strong body and an excellent kick.

Out of contract this year and I read that a number of clubs are interested.
We definitely should be. Exact kind of player we need.

This is where we need to tap into recently retired guns wanting to get into coaching, not use up list spots.

Assuming Tucker and Phillips go, we'll have one list spot free after the three designated for mandatory draftees, before we get to Payne or Harvey.

I have a feeling Phillips may still be on our list next year.

I'm convinced we'd do better drafting in solid state league players to perform roles around our high-end kids than continually taking in those fringe players.

If we can't attract A & B graders from other Clubs - not sure that continually hitting C & D graders achieves much.

It’s an interesting idea, because on one had - are they playing state league because they’re nowhere near good enough to play AFL? But then they would also come much cheaper & are possibly hungrier to make it.

Yes. Fisher’s best goal return is 18 goals in a Season and he did that in 3 less games than Spargo.

So what are we going looking at Spargo, we got this bloke of 4 years for God knows how much and he can’t get a game in our back half which is historically bad.
