Up to 16 senior-listed players could feature in the match, with the Bulldogs to tie things up at the top of the ladder with a win.

Very important game today at Box Hill Oval. We take on the top side in perfect conditions for a good test of where our younger players are in their development. This, I believe, is more important than the result. Davidson, Dolan, Hynes, Jacques, Smith and Croft will compete against strong opponents. Should be a fascinating game to watch.

Quick question and I'm sure there's no answer to it; why is it that we never have draft hopefuls playing with our VFL team? Like overagers from the Western Jets and kids like that?

We've had kids signed to the VFL side that we want a good look at, eg Anthony Scott from the Ammos before we took him at AFL level. Gardner as a Geelong DFA. Poulter from Collingwood etc.

I think we wanted a good look at Phoenix Spicer too.
Perhaps that's our preferred approach.

Xavier Kardachi played 3 games for us this year and he is an overager for the Western Jets
