Having a strong VFL program is key to having a strong AFL program. North and Saints have really ignored this over the last couple of years and it shows with their development.

I like the pressure / second efforts from Croft, certainly not on a Naughton level just yet but could see him developing that as a strength.

That’s what such a shame with Buku. There is a third tall spot open - Poulter is only there because he didn’t take his opportunity and now Poulter is giving it a crack doing what Khamis should be doing. He leads at 70% not one hundred and loses all the advantage of his incredible leap. He has the attributes to be a very good third tall but he just isn’t aggressive enough. Would have had three today with great passes to what should have been advantages but he slowed down when he should have sped up.

You can tell that Arty is playing for his career. I do think that Khamis has gotten a bit laconic as the game has gone on, he isn't getting separation from Ramsden so he's not running as hard.
