Gee whiz. Very inaccurate take.
McAsey wasn't the wrong pick? Are you high?
He's right that we were following pretty standard rebuild strategy - start with the key talls because they take longer, then bring in mids and smalls.

Thilthorpe was the right piece. McAsey was deceptive, because it was a bad year for key talls so he seemed better than he was. Right idea but wrong talent identification. Shouldn't have been stuck in our ways

He was the guy who was supposed to go forward and back, classic swingman.

A fragile kid though, made worse by COVID and family tragedy. Serong was the sensible pick.... but given our inability to develop midfielders theres a chance wed have wasted him too.

Its the same thing with Langford vs Draper.

Harvey would be playing SANFL
Langford would be playing, just like Soligo, Michelanney and Rachele did from day one.

Draper has had injury issues for the last three years but hopefully is getting past that.

I personally just didn’t really see it with McAsey at all other than being courageous and a decent grab at 18s level what did he really have? He wasn’t quick, athletic or a great ball user I get he was rated highly but I just never understood it, it felt like a real reach
So similar to Daniel Talia then?
That descriptor sounds a lot like Talia.

lol, just no where near the same quality of player. It was a stupid decision picking a defender with such a top pick when there were quality mids available. Look where we’ve got Keane, Murray, Butts and Borlase from and they are all better players than McAsey.

We needed a AFL national reserves comp more than we needed AFLW... Sorry but AFLW is still putrid and did not deserve to be pushed on us that quick. crawl before you walk FFS
I had to go and look at what this comment was about. As it was back earlier in the year lol. I was referring to needing both SANFL/WAFL competitions as well as an AFL reserves comp. I love my Norwood FootyClub a d my Adelaide Footy club and hate them playing against each other. Had nothing to do with AFLW. I barely watch that

I miss Sarah Perkins. She reminded of former Norwood footballer Chris Prime.

Every time she'd charge out yell Tractor!!!!
Provided amusement for my son and he started yelling it too.

Not a spectacle just keep the women's comp at amateur level.

But of height in that backline...LOL

Sid Draper on a HFF, Jay Boyle and Blake Drury on ball?

I dont mind Sid starting there, its likely where he'd start in the senior side currently.

As long as he plays more midfield than forward.

Hopefully we see some promising signs from a few today.

Fogarty should dominate this level.
Ah Chee needs to get miles into his legs.
Draper needs to get more of the pill and some confidence.
Cotton, Ludowyke, Marsh and Welsh have all been promising at various points - keep building.

Of that bottom group, the Richmond game would have been perfect to give one of them a taste of AFL footy. Much better for their development than playing glorified amateurs.

Sturt playing what looks to be very AFL style game plan which seems to be helping us. Also doing a crows specific back line pass around where they turn it over in the forward 50 and results in another goal to us.
