It was fastest ever edition with multiple of favorites having punctures, It was so back n forth, I don't know how you can say it wasn't an all-time edition of Paris-Roubaix?Good edition of Roubaix but I must admit, I don't think it was an all-time edition like many pundits do though. Super race by each of the first and second place riders. WVA for being close many times on the cobbles and breaking through (he really is an incredible rider), and Pogacar for even lining up letting alone finishing 2nd in each of his first two starts.
In hindsight when WVA was reluctant to pull, Pogacar should have let the MDVP group catch them. If he is two-up with WVA, then of course WVA will chase his attacks. From a bigger group, they all look around wondering who will do the work. If MDVP or WVA's teammates try to close the gap they will probably fail and Pogacar is more likely to get away.
I hope he has another go. I already have him close to level with Merckx and if he wins Roubaix and/or the Vuelta at some stage, for me that would make him the GOAT.
