Absolutely hate Thursday’s.
If any club shouldn’t play in them, it should be us.
The traffic between Melbourne and Geelong is a nightmare.
No different to Perth with the game starting at 6:10pm instead of 7:40pm less distance but less time. Optus stadium was set-up to be accessed by Trains and Buses but the event buses and trains don't run on a work day during rush hour as they don't have enough. You have to swap rides to the ground from the main arterials rather than go straight there.

They need to be shared and if you're up the top of the ladder, bad luck you're playing more of them than the teams at the bottom. It's for the greater good of getting to watch footy on a Thursday night.

This. Normally it’s a 35-40 minute trip to Optus for me on the train, even with a change at Perth Station.

Left home at 4:45 last Thursday for the Hawks game and missed the first 10 minutes of Q1.

Most train lines come into Perth and then out to the stadium. Perth Station was like a London Underground station at 6pm - could barely move between platforms or once on the train.

Is "standalone" their attempt to make watching Kayo feel like an event?

"This isn't a normal match you'd be watching anyway when you like AFL enough to pay for a subscription. It's a STANDALONE!"

Hmm, logic is broken.

Vic Clubs fly between 4-7 times a year. Hawks more than most, but 40 min flight to Lonnie is not much of an impact.

Perth is 4.5-5.0 hours each way
Yes. And their opponents fly that every week they come to play them in perth. Thus their opponents fly it every second week.

Huge advocate for playing every game at the same time in the last round. EPL do it. Why can't we?
1 game at optus
1 game at adelaide oval
1 at gabba
1 at gold coast
1 at scg
1 at gws
1 at mcg
1 at marvel
1 at tassie
Why? There are so many utter inconsistencies in their draw. Why would you focus on this very minor thing?

Would this be an inconsistency? If anything, I thought it would be consistent. All teams play at the same time. No tanking, no late changes (hello chris scott), all have equal break going into wildcard weekend

Why is 8:10 the latest it can be, is there a law about it in Victoria we don't know about? Why not start it at 8:40 eastern so that only half of the game overlaps?

You'll get more people watching more footy than if you overlap games at the same time as you can't watch two things at once. That is unless your wife has let you install two TV's side by side in the lounge room, something that despite my asking has not happened to me.
Well then, now we know who wears the pants in your household.

Love the idea, but the broadcasters will never allow it.

I didnt say it was a inconsistenct. I said it was a very minor improvement and not worth fixing. Especially given it comes with massive cost for tv audiences and attendance.

There are much bigger incinsistencies.

Such as geelong playing 2 more away games then everyone else.
Big 4 teams always getting double ups every year against each other.
A lopsided draw that could easily be fixed with the proposal made by mclaughlan 5 years ago.
Hawthorn getting extra away games in melbourne they dont deserve because of the tassie deal

How do you mean? No Victorian club plays more than 9 home games at their home ground other than Geelong (10).

Genuinely don't get an easy stretch until the last month. If we get to seasons end 5-8 then we aren't good enough. Get top 4 and should be supremely confident we can go well because we'll have had to beat some good clubs to get there.

The only 2 games i can see Geelong possibly losing are Freo & Brisbane.

Any other loss would be a surprise.

Will finish top 2 list health will decide if they win the flag or not imo.
