12 weeks is a long time for a hammy. He must have torn it from the bone or something like that? Some guys simply have no luck with injuries. A young guy with no preseason under his belt means he probably won't be in contention until late April.

Rotten luck and bad news indeed. Speedy recovery Tom.

On a brighter note I guess Albert the labradoodle will earn his dog biscuits?

Post-season news*
Ross is this 100% accurate, that we only had 3 players have operations between September and middle of November?

If so, then that is a low number of surgeries by the standards of the last 6 or 7 years.

I know we had a few during the 2025 season that ended the season for a few players, so that might be part of the reason why.

I think it was between October 2023 and April 2024 we had 19 player who had surgeries, with about a dozen of them between end of one season and Christmas then a few more in January and February and a couple once the season started.

Those are the only 2 articles I recall seeing.

Sam Powell-Pepper has undergone an arthroscopy to reduce discomfort in his knee as he continues his rehabilitation following an ACL tear in July.

On return from Christmas break, Powell-Pepper was experiencing irritation as he increased the intensity of his end-stage rehab, with some scar tissue identified as the likely predominant cause of the issue.

In consultation with a surgeon, it was decided a clean out of scar tissue was necessary to resolve the discomfort, push towards end stage and return to training in this phase of rehab.

The procedure is not uncommon for athletes recovering from an ACL injury, and Powell-Pepper's return to play timeline is not expected to be greatly impacted.
Hope he’s back on the field soon
