Preview 2026 MSD Draft Prospects

The only other option is a mature ruckman. Feels like we will pick up some tall kids in this next draft but if CCJ goes we will need ruck coverage. MSD would be the right place to get that going earlier rather than later.

I reckon a few of the tassie VFL listed players will be on the radar...

Jaxon Artemis is flashy with his drive, run and carry off half back.

Jed Hagan can play multiple roles, but looks so smart inside forward 50 at ground level. Reckon he deserves a crack at AFL level.

Max Mapley looks very talented for a relatively raw ruckman. His following up work is particularly good.

Lachlan Hay was super impressive weekend just gone kicking 4 as a half forward/mid

Rory Wright was unlucky not to get picked up last year and has looked sound in his first few games.

Yes, we almost drafted him last year.

I couple of messages I had from December/January:

“Bamert tough as nails mid, left foot weapon, great runner, natural leadership.North will be exploring ways to sneak him on list….”

“Man that Bamert is a star. He stood out like dogs balls in the scratch match. Adam said he should have been drafted.

Likely we cop an injury, but if we don’t, it’s clearly one of those obvious decisions we haven’t been able to make the previous 5 or so years.

The change I'd make to the MSD would be every club gets a pick as lond as you can fit it into your cap.

Then if you have long term injuries or other spots avialable then you can take multiple picks.

He looked the best of the VFL listed players. Was pretty rough around the edges.

Hard to know. We may have taken him if we only had one spot. May have been confident he'd still be there at 10.

Jaxon has mummy issues & sleeps in his football jumper at night. Don't touch!
Jed has an extremely foul mouth and a fascination for fire. Don't touch!
Max, has a basketball background & will probably head to the Jack Jumpers. Don't touch!
Lachy, whispers are he's a heavy gamer, currently seeking help for his Fortnite addiction. Don't touch!
Rory has no left foot, right foot, cross eyed and can't hit a target. Don't touch!

To be fair though I was particularly keen on Jed, Rory and Jaxon prior to becoming inagural Tassie Devils....
