Bamert with 23 disposals and 1.0 today.

Really liked him running through the midfield today. That flexibility in his game will hold him in good stead at AFL level.

His competitiveness and willingness to do all the team things stands out. I’d also love to see his GPS numbers as he never seems to stop running.

Just say we had pick 1 in the MSD it’d be hard to split Bamert and Louie Montgomery imo.

1/2 - Bamert & Montgomery
3 - Kobe Ryan (SANFL)
4 - Josh Tovey (Port Melbourne)

Fisher was better. Not sure where Bamert would fit.

Bamert is 19. You aren’t picking him as a ready made option, your picking him on his upside potential as he is a powerful athlete and good runner.

Long term, he could play on any line. Half forward, midfield or half back. Has different athletic attributes that suits a variety of roles.

For me though, I’d be picking him as a midfielder who can push forward. He is on the taller side (186cm) and covers the ground really well.

We don’t have a lot of midfield depth, so it would make sense to have another mid on the last developing in the twos.

Can he kick and is he aggressive/competitive?

Bambert plays like a little wrecking ball

I want

He has a nice left peg, booming kick, but needs to work on his short kicking. Can be prone to throwing it on the boot under pressure.

Competitiveness and aggressiveness are big big ticks. He loves the tough stuff.

Sounds good, when I think of needed list traits, mongrel is at the top of the list

Personally I think they should put Thredgold on LTI and take Tarrant.
As you can use him in a potential CCJ role down the track in the AFL as CCJ won’t be at North in 2027.
Dawson is rucking because Tarrant isn't any good at it; too slight in the upper body. Good player, hope he gets a crack, but it won't be as a second ruck.

Who is the over age player from the Falcons being talked up as a MSD prospect?

Probably be Jett Elek. He played the vic country trials on the weekend supposedly played really well. 201cm raw key forward/2nd ruck. Has a good athletic profile.

A 201cm key forward ruck in the MSD, what could go wrong?

It's kind of a similar situation to Edwards too...didn't have the best top age year, comes back a bit more physically mature, and starts marking the ball better. He has been consistently finding the footy in the Talent League though.

Rnd 1: 18 disposals, 8 marks, 1 goal
Rnd 2: 12 disposals, 3 marks, 4 goals
Rnd 3: 16 disposals, 8 marks, 1 goal
Rnd 4: 12 disposals, 3 marks, 0.3

More of these types mean it's more likely Bamert is available.

The club wont have missed it, kills two birds with one stone also.

Best case scenario is getting a best available in the MSD and from your own program. As it incentivises future recruits to come here knowing we recruit from our own system. Similar to the Dogs have done continually.

Trembath and Bamert in consecutive years is good marketing for our VFL program.

Thredgold is still nowhere near a football field.

Still intrigued why we didn't just list Bamert when we had the chance.

Is there a chance they are reluctant to add another to the list, as that would have us two over maximum, and result in us needing to delist a minimum of 5 at the end of the year?
