Just saw vision of Elijah having a set shot in the warmup. 30m out he kicked it 20m at right angles.

Tbf, you should see some of the amazingly horrific kicking for goal across the board over the years (Charlie from 5 metres out last week says hi). :p

I think if if you give a player the opportunity to win their spot back and they do everything right and are clear best 22, the onus on you is to give that player the list spot, particularly with 2 available.

The last 2 weeks Lij was in our best 5 players. On the field he is everything we lack.

So regardless what happens Im ok with Lij being offered the list spot. The drama might not be great for the list now, but not like it'll ruin our season. Thats already happened.

This may sound harsh but it wasn’t bad luck. It was a regulation shot and we all knew he would miss it. Didn’t want the ball. Another non killer.

Do we have a single player who can sieze the moment?
Yeah righto, just blame the result on the nineteen year old fourth gamer. Utter BS.

Full navy outfit …

80000 spectators packed into the G…

Who wouldn’t want to play for Carlton?

They are only spectators in a stadium. I don’t know how many players would want to play for a well supported bottom 4 club over a top 6 club who would get 80000+ spectators in the finals series.

Regardless if it is not good for him long term? Sorry, but this Nuts to me. It's about what's best for the person, not the club

Got to say I loved Pittos work when Byrne missed, u could see him in his ear supporting the kid.
He would have been devastated to miss that (& he missed - he didn’t shank it, it finished exactly between the goals, flight path was just wrong - it was a miss not a shank- it happens)
Proper leadership by Pitto, some team mates should be shown his actions on repeat - not having a laugh after losing, just being there for a team mate.
Pittos a top bloke, at the kids days at the club. He's got time for everyone. He impressed me and my son.

Lewis Young is comfortably in the top 5 worst footballers I've seen in the Navy Blue in the ~35 years I've been watching.

It's laughable he is still on our list, let alone being gifted snr games.

I thought Young actually looked halfway-alright in the few ruck contests he attended.

Remember that game we played HOK as ruck relief and he only played like 30% TOG? If we're gonna do dumb shit like that then Lewis Young is probably the one to do it with.

Voss is done - alowing a player to be totally out of it...an indictment on the whole coaching staff...somethign is very broken in there...I swtiched off at 3/4 time - the writg nwas on the wall Hollands with 0 anythign for a whoe game...and not picked up.
ENOUGH

Agree, I'm still glad we took the gamble for a high ceiling player who really did show some good signs.

Whether it works out, we'll know soon enough. But our problems are so deep and so many I'm glad we took the gamble on potential upside.

This was in the warm up. Clearly he wasn't right to play.

So what you and some others are saying is it's okay because he could bring us some talent we need?

The welfare and health and what is best for the person involved doesn't matter?

Wow

I think some fans and media forget that they were saying that we would better if we only had one of Harry or Charlie over the past couple of years..........

The same people get mad that we are losing

I did and so did many others. Not hindsight at all. Said at the time based on advice of many experts

Thats your opinion Soapy. You were negative on Lij all preseason. You might have been right but doesnt mean the clubs thought process at the time was wrong.

Anyway we dont even know how this all plays out yet.

Might be an unpopular opinion but I saw signs from Cerra last night that he is working his way into some form. Albeit slowly.
There was a handpass off a wing to get the ball into the corridor and out of congestion in the third quarter IIRC that was excellent. Good vision, smart hands, hit his target, began a scoring chain that resulted in a point (one of the set shots, I think).

Dunno if one good handpass is enough, but I agree a little.

Nobody is saying that Soapy. Stop putting words in other peoples mouth.

So, in the end, you've still got nothing and you're angry about it; affecting care, despite perpetuating the things that require them to need it.

I'm angry at the club, and every supporter should be as well.

Whether it was coming off a substance, still on one, a panic attack, anxiety episode or just a debilitating calf strain - the young man was not fit to be out there. It arguably cost us the game - and worse - potentially his career.

Terribly managed situation by a terribly managed club.

How else would you interpret this?

Again let's just see what information comes out around this - it was clearly exceptional circumstances.

For now I'm actually going to support the club on this despite the media pile on. I find it had to believe if it was that obvious the guy was struggling that they would have still played him. I could be wrong but I don't see the club the or Voss pushing the the guy up the race Ozzy Osbourne style to play. All these commentators that are now experts- were they calling it out early in the game (I don't know).

Clubs are very well educated and guarded on this stuff these days.

I see the irony also in someone like Kane Cornes who will be all sympathetic about player well being and menta health - and earns a living publicly ripping coaches and players ever week !
