Look away now Dees fans, this is the side you could have had by simply nailing every pick from the 2020-2024 TOYOTA AFL DRAFT PERIOD

B: Zak Johnson - Mark Keane - Daniel Turner

HB: Trent Rivers - Jake Lever - Josh Weddle

C: Ollie Dempsey - Jack Viney - Nic Martin

HF: Murphy Reid - Patrick Voss - Beau McCreery

F: Logan Morris - Shannon Neale - Paul Curtis

R: Max Gawn - Christian Petracca - Kysaiah Pickett

I: Harvey Langford - Daniel Curtin - Ed Langdon - Nathan O’Driscoll - Seth Campbell
I Love Lamb dream team. Just need to invent that time machine now.

So anyways, outside of depth and just the old 'best available' what do we think we'll make a priority for trade/FA this year? Would guess a mature key back, burst mid type, and maybe a half back who's a good kick and can play ground balls? Butts and Humphrey potentially fit the bill as names thrown around by us nuffs, not sure on half backs though.

Or completely left field, if things go south and they try the JVR back experiment (and given Kentfield can play there too), do we even look at someone like Amartey or Walter?

I dunno, I just kinda wanna stop talking about the same stuff over and over in the 2026 thread tbh.

Too early to say, we havnt even seen some of our blokes play in the 1s yet to know our team balance and composition will look like and what gaps we need filled. If you asked me now I would say we take draft Van Dyke (Mid forward) at 7 (our pick) and Szerszyn (Mid/Tall Def) at pick 15 (GC pick). Again, yet to even see the under agers play properly yet.

Humphrey would be a mistake, shanked about 4 shots at goal today in a single quarter, not sure the obsession with him tbh, would rather throw ridiculous cash at M Reid. Don’t mind Butts.

Isn't the next draft hugely compromised at the top end again? So pick 7 likely to be pick 12ish?

We will finish bottom 5 and be pushed out 2 spots from Walker and Cochrane I think. That said it probably depends on if AFL flake out on the new FS and Academy rules which I am betting they do.

Dream scenario would be getting two high quality mid-age free agents: Bailey from the lions and Butts from the Crows.

Then using our two first round picks on best available talents.
Glad you understood the assignment mate. Clearly said trade/FA in the post.

Agreed, you're not sold on Humphrey from the Suns? I guess its a keep tabs situation.

Naicos has referenced how good we are to watch twice in his interview on SEN this morning. Time to go ALL IN.

Is a straight swap with Tom Sparrow enough? Or do we need something else on-top

As much as I would love to have Nick, dudes a bit too precious when it comes to tackling.

My post was a joke but this is like knocking back Franklin because he couldn't mark above his head.

Wonder if we'll have a look at the MSD? Anyone know of any decent prospects? We have at least 2 players that will be gone end of year and don't seem likely to play this year, so could get an early retirement maybe? Frees up a spot, and wouldn't hurt cash wise given it's just an MSD pick.

Is Shane McAdam alive?
