Here's something that has conveniently been missed by the media. Derek Hine went on Brian Taylor's "Life of Brian" podcast in June last year and during their chat, he said that Nick Daicos would be too big of a fish for the small pond that is Tassie.

Players arent in the know of what will get a deal done. I'm sure he would be in his ear, but then it'll be on his management to advise whether its possible or not. But that's something for later in the year.

Would love to get Humphrey but he will still have 2 more years to run on his contract following this year and suns wont give him away cheaply and will want win now players in exchange, so unless Degoey has a good year and we use him as bait plus a good pick thrown in I cant see it happening.

King would be elite and suns cap isnt as open as ports with Butters so they may struggle to match a heavy bid by us.

I'd be stoked to come away with King as the big fish and Butts as a cheaper pick up to strengthen our weak key back stocks, also surely we can pry away a vfl hawk who is out of favour like Blanck cheaply, so long as he goes nowhere near Naicos

The club has done so well recently in trades. I like Shultz, Houston, Perryman, Membrey, Bobby Normie, Frampton and McStay. They have had rough periods but have been great additions. McKicked has not been as expected but was critical in 2023 and the large person is yet to sing. Long, Steele and Parker appear to be arriving with little cost. We need that elite midfielder to partner Nick and improve those around them. Last year it sounds like Rowell was so close. Get it done pies.
