We aren’t going to land anyone of note
King, Butters, Humphries
We can’t get in front of any of these guys because the reality is ..we aren’t attractive when you look at it from the outside in.
Nobody is taking us seriously when you see the demographic of our list and so many unknown quantities yet on the list as replacements

Keep our powder dry and hit the draft and maybe find a value player of two via trade
Are you always this negative? It's not over until the fat lady sings.

There always has to be people who have to go down this path as you did calling you negative when you try and just be realistic

I don’t get it

Which part of what I said isn’t true?

I’m sorry it hurts your feelings

But maybe try and tell me why we can attract these players rather than trying to play this Nancy card calling me negative because you don’t like what you’re reading or hearing

Some have gone into complete meltdown because we're just a competitive battling team this year. I think thank **** they don't barrack for the Saints.

I think it’s worth noting for Walter that the 2 x $750k would be the cost to retain. The acquisition cost is going to be at least 10-20% pa higher so you’d say closer to the $850-900k range…

That’s a lot for a low possession KPF that has no second effort in him and rarely moves beyond the attacking 50.

Long term plan vs scattergun approach.

Hawks will likely add Merrett and Humphrey after getting both Barrass and Battle 2 years ago.

Meanwhile we have struggled to find 1 decent mid to support Nick for the last 5 years.

Can you please just stop. Your weird expectation that we should (or can) simply get anyone we want or who would be a good fit doesn’t actually fit the reality of player movement. Nothing scattergun about us

lol meltdown
It’s amazing what living in fantasy can do for your perspective
But putting all our chips on one superstar is not the solution given our list position anyway.
We need smart considered decisions to rebuild and fill many holes on our list.
Free agents, using our early picks and smart trading for value players should be our method and not seen as a failure

Reminds me of a bit of the 2020-21 darkness. Lots of shit flinging here then

Yep
This is the problem
They seem like Geelong to have rivers of gold to attract whoever they want

Is Archer Reid from West Coast worth looking at?

Young, Tall forward ruck stuck behind a few?

If Bobby is heading West for peanuts, maybe this our best chance of getting something worthwhile in return?
He's been unimpressive at senior level and even less impressive at WAFL level. Doesn't seem like it's clicking for him

Interesting.

I’ll admit that I have done zero background work on him.

On the flip side, could be even cheaper and still only 20-21 years old

He’s been wildly inconsistent in his seniors games. Long stints goalless and such etc.

I have to say though, much less injury prone than his brother Zach at Essendon

We only lost two games by more than five goals as well

This year having mirrors to that results wise. Two smashings and a lot of narrow defeats
It'll be interesting seeing how it progresses when we get to play Richmond, Port and North (all fairly soon too). To me we still seem like a wildcard tier team - too little talent to go with Freo/Sydney, but better coached and more talented than those teams below us

I agree on Tsatas, can't recall his disposal accuracy but he's an inside mid and would greatly be influenced by Neal. What better way to improve than by an A grade mid, teaching him the secrets to their elitism. Old heads have better insight.
I think, we have nothing to lose and a gun to gain. Isn't Tsatas good mates with Nick?
Not sure on Tsatas - watching game highlights he came out of a pack on his wrong side, and had a complete airy. That lack of athleticism combined with his known weaknesses was not very encouraging IMO.

I’d take Parish even though he’s older.

I agree with you for sure 100%.
It has to be our only play because of the situation we have found ourselves in

Ruining multiple threads with their sad fantasies
LOL ruining…
I’m sorry you’re so precious that this great club can do no wrong in you eyes

It’s a football club forum to discuss matters at the club —whether they are good or bad

If you don’t like what you see or read you can piss off and go play marbles

My literacy?
See I don’t care of this stupid shit you bring up that has no relevance to what this forum is about. Play the ball and not the man so to speak.
It’s a fan forum to discuss all things Collingwood—whether you agree with it or not

All you have done is come on here and basically try and tell everyone why they are wrong …and tell them they’re negative because they have a different view point to you despite them presenting facts and stats and not just giving flippant opinions about it
You’ll then further discredit it as meltdowns because you don’t agree

And because of that they’re now ruining threads because you don’t like their views or don’t agree

I’m sorry but you’re not right every single time because you think you are”positive”

The club has made mistakes on various issues covered recently that cannot be excused for.

It has of course done some things that are great too

I think we could have and should have done more in certain areas that have left us exposed.
